We show our passion of Aotearoa!
Staci Offwood, a self-taught photographer, developed Whanake Gallery & Espresso Bar as a way to share her love and passion for the West Coast and provide locals and visitors alike with unique New Zealand photography and quality fair trade coffee. She has made it her mission to show the world what an amazing and diverse part of New Zealand the Buller region is. Combining her love of great coffee with her passion for photography, Whanake Gallery & Espresso Bar was born.

Located in the quaint seaside town of Westport, Whanake came into being in 2007 when an old law office building came up for sale, recycling most of the existing building into a bright new coffee bar and gallery. Staci has created a unique way of building her life around the things she feels most passionate about and sharing them with the world. The result is a mix of distinctive West Coast photography, souvenirs, take away coffee and home-style baking in a friendly, exquisitely restored and beautifully decorated building.

No matter what the weather, the West Coast can be just as dramatic in stormy conditions as it is under sunny skies. Staci and the Whanake team are always happy to point you on the right direction to truly experience the most distinctive and dramatic places both near Westport and in the wider Buller region.

Available in a large variety of sizes or custom made. Choose from our instore options or choose an image from our catalogues.

Plywood
Whanake plywood art is printed on the highest quality ply wood using ultra violet resistant ink. The plywood is layered together using marine glue for the finest finish.
ACM (Outdoor Art)
Whanake ACM has a minimum of 5 year outdoor life and is laminated with an ultra violet resistant gloss for extra protection from sun and dirt.

Post Cards & Greeting Cards
We offer a range of postcards and greeting cards that showcase the outstanding diversity of landscapes and seascapes of the Westport/Buller region along with the key components of its natural and human history.

We also offer a wide range of other products including clothing, jewellery boxes, quality second hand items and much more!

Coffee
Christchurch based, Underground Coffee Company supply us with our coffee beans. We use the Revolution blend because we like our coffee well rounded and to pack a good punch! Revolution combines Ethiopian, Columbian, Mexican and Papa New Guinean beans. The higher concentration of Columbian beans gives it a rich and sweet body with nutty tones. We believe it to be the blend for the true coffee lover which keeps you coming back for more!
Being that we are a takeaway Espresso Bar, it allows us to have our coffees flying out the door in record time. For this reason we are able to concentrate on paying special attention to simply making your coffee just the way you like it.

Baking
Staci’s mother, Carol, lovingly makes a variety of old fashioned baked goods to accompany Whanake’s fast paced takeaway coffees.

Pre-Paid Cards
Purchase a pre-paid card for 10 coffees paid in advance. You save 20c off each coffee or 40c if you use your B.Y.O Cup. Your 11th Coffee is free and once your card is finished you go into the draw to win a piece of Staci Offwood art! No counting change or entering pins, just a stamp on your card and your good to go.

Wholesale Coffee
For those who don’t want to leave home or simply love our coffee around the clock. We provide a variety of sizes of wholesale coffee beans and can also grind your wholesale beans for espresso, filter or plunger.

Whanake B.Y.O Cups
At Whanake we pride ourselves on doing what we can to help protect the environment. Our very own reusable cups are New Zealand made from recyclable plastics. They are food safe, highly durable and F.D.A approved as fully non-toxic. When you purchase a B.Y.O cup your first fill is free and you receive a 20c discount on each coffee you purchase with your cup. Pick from a variety of funky colours!
