Welcome to the Whaiora Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race… where four women team up, train for and go away (often on a girls only weekend away) and have an absolute blast of an adventure together, side by side all the way.

The Whaiora Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race is a social event catering for all levels of fitness and experience, where teams of 4 women take part in an short, medium or long course adventure in the great outdoors. Traveling together a team must navigate around a secrete course by foot (walking/jogging), mountain bike and kayaking (craft/paddles and life vests will be provided), completing a few surprise mystery activities along the way. And to top of the adventure, around the outside of the event there is a good bit of pampering (you deserve it after all!). It strengthens bonds and relationships, bringing family, friends and work colleagues (its a fantastic corporate health & team building exercise!) together for a weekend of unadulterated fun.

But the Spirited Women is far more than creating an unforgettable event experience shared among girlfriends; it’s about women making time for themselves, their health and fitness. For many participants the journey to the event is the most cherished part… the regular getting together as a team to train, learning new skills, and supporting one another to push their boundaries… often ending up in cafes enjoying a coffee and sweet treat, having a good laugh and planning the next adventure.

In 2016 the maiden Spirited Women – All Women’s Adventure Race was played out in the North Island adventure hot spot – Rotorua with 116 teams (464 women) participation. In 2017 with Whaiora on board as title sponsor we took the second annual event to another wonderful adventure playground – Taupo delivering to a capacity 300 teams of four (1200 women). In 2018 we invite you to find your inner spirit, be brave, and together with your girlfriends make up a team to compete in what will be an absolute gem of an event experience in the Whakatane Ohope region between 16th - 18th March. The third edition is limited to 390 team (1560 women).
