Western Springs Stadium is a well-utilised community and outdoor concert and festival stadium, while motorsport fans know it best for hosting the regular Speedway events.

The entertainment venue is located in Grey Lynn and is only 3kms from Downtown Auckland. Sited across 10 hectares, the natural amphitheatre has a crowd capacity of upwards of 50,000 for festivals and concerts.

Western Springs is home to Vodafone Speedway and Ponsonby Rugby Club.

Great times. Toilets were clean. Kids were kept busy. Seating for lunch. Lots of activity. Fun day. Train has longer ride than what I remember. Well worth it. Try to go when there's nice weather. Wonderful day in overcast skies but be horrid in rain.
Attended this stadium for Friday Jams. Second time enjoying this concert hosted by Western Springs Stadium and both times I enjoyed myself, as did those who joined the gigs with me. Enough security, paramedics and bouncers to keep the place safe as well as the additional venues that are open to festival lovers. This venue holds a large capacity of people making it a great stadium for hosting. As usual, they outdid themselves.
Great if noisy experience for the family Do take earmuffs for the kids and cash for the food/beer. Sun can be pretty intense at summer meets but the atmosphere changes for a more relaxed and comfortable vibe once the sun goes down.
Great venue, sound and visuals for the back crowds. Great flow into the park. Grass a bit boggy in places but they had staff posted there to keep everyone safe. Staff were amazing
The speedway here is fantastic, but if you're going to a concert here prepare for a bad time. I've been to western springs three times for concerts and each time has been a shambles. -$12 to $15 for a standard drink -having to pay 3 dollars for the privilege of having a cup -servers are shirty with you -any rain and the whole field turns to a mud pit, especially around toilets -they have a back entrance to the stadium that they never bother to use because that would inconvenience them with extra security costs -the vip section is a joke Come for the speedway, but avoid this venue for concerts at all costs
Takes me back to my childhood mucking around on the infield and pits in the 80s
Jack Johnson concert was awesome, a pity there were no shelters for the rain, neither were mats to safely stand on heavily transited public areas. Food trucks well priced but the drinks were way too expensive!
Happend to stumble on this place today. What an amazing park, clean and tidy! Excellent facilities, alot of wildlife from swans, ducks, rabbits and lots of native birds. Easy walk great for beginners or anyone in general. Would definitely visit this park again. Plenty of things to do, close to motat and the zoo.
Had a very happy time with family. Very educational full of Auckland history. Very useful for kids.
