5 stars for the manager Michelle and her team of cleaners they were the most kindest, Understanding people I have ever met.nnPer person this place is extremely Pricey so bare that in mind when booking.
We had the most amazing time at Warkworth lodge, the experience was unreal. The staff were so accommodating, Michelle is quite simply just amazing. We had our bridal party stay here and we used their facilities to get ready. Having the top floor for the bridal party and one of the rooms down the bottom for the men was the perfect mix! Highly recommend, and it was so affordable for such a large group. The pool area was so amazing to relax in, the night prior and it’s local to the supermarket and a decent pub! Always a perk. We definitely will be back.
Great stay at the Warkworth Lodge. Liz had amazing customer service and made us feel very welcome! Beautiful shared lounge, kitchen and outdoor area. Stayed in the Blue Room - it was very clean and comfortable with a lovely little seating area outside. Easy walking distance to restaurants, bars and river walk. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back again in future!
I don't like giving 5 star reviews, because all the sudden you can't book a room because they're all full. But I just have to say how good this place is. Michelle is amazing, always go's out of her way to help you. Home away from home feel. Love staying here!
I've been questioning whether or not I should leave this review as the lady I dealt with was very polite and apologetic, but since any future problems similar to this could put other guests in serious, potentially dangerous situations, I felt I needed to share my experience. I booked a room that was supposed to be wheelchair accessible... the staff member told me there was a 2-3cm lip to get into the room which would have been fine, but when we turned up, it was actually a good few inches, which my power wheelchair wouldn't be able to go over.nThere was no other way into the room, and although she and her partner offered to try and carry me in, my wheelchair alone is 170kg, and as a disabled person, being lifted or carried by people who aren't trained to do so in a manner that is safe for both myself and them, it is not an acceptable option. Also, I called them on the afternoon of the booking to advise them we were running late and wouldn't be there until around 7pm, and she said that was fine, and that she was glad I called because it had occurred to her the previous day that the shower may not be accessible. Since the booking was only for one night I shrugged it off because there wasn't much else I could do, but I question why she didn't contact me straight after that had occurred to her, and if I hadn't have called, was she just going to wait until I arrived?nShe was very apologetic about the not so accessible room, and called around other motels for us to try and find a vacancy that was actually accessible and that also allowed dogs, and whilst they did end up finding somewhere, by that point it was late at night and we had driven all the way from Wellington, so the extra couple of hours drive to the new motel through heavy rain and roadworks was not appreciated. We also had to change our plans for the next day as a result of the change in location. Again, she was very apologetic, and friendly, but this could have ended up being a serious problem if she was unable to find a replacement motel - we would have had to sleep in the car, and since my friend has severe asthma that is often triggered by rain and cold weather, sleeping in the car could have caused a bad attack leading to hospitalisation. Just a little advice, if you're giving out measurements for this kind of thing, don't estimate it, measure it, and if you have concerns after the booking has been made, contact the guest straight away, don't wait until it's too late to act on before you say anything!
