Tucked away amongst the peace and quiet of Whale Bay, Waoku Lodge is Raglan’s only five-star experience.

Four luxurious, self-contained apartments offer couples, families and groups the space and serenity to take a real break from the world. Windows reveal far-reaching ocean and bush vistas, bathrooms are awash in indulgence and each apartment has its own private deck and spa pool – perfect for viewing breathtaking west coast sunsets.

Make use of the kitchen facilities in your apartment, or take your pick from our seasonally-inspired menu and enjoy a gourmet meal in the privacy of your apartment or out in the fresh air on your private deck.

The vibrant delights of Raglan town are just a few minutes drive away, and if outdoor adventure is calling, we can help you arrange horse riding treks, sightseeing tours around Raglan, paddleboarding adventures , surf lessons, bush and beach walks, mountain biking, kayaking and fishing kayaking excursions.

I had an amazing stay! Our apartment was so beautiful and the view from the deck was absolutely stunning! I really enjoyed watching the sunset while relaxing in the spa pool. Everything was so clean and tidy and the staff was very friendly and welcoming! Really good vibes and had a super relaxing stay!
Beautiful, boutique 2 bedroom apartment with large deck, outdoor dining furniture and sun loungers plus a private, heated spa pool. Great food and service - a 3 course dinner with lots of local produce, for one vegetarian and one carnivore, delivered to the apartment plus a fresh breakfast basket delivered to the room the next morning. This is a stunning location with wide sea views from the deck, excellent surf just down the road and only a few minutes' drive from the hipster little town of Raglan. What more could you ask for? Thank you for making our 10 year wedding anniversary so special. We will be back! *Photos are of the Matangi apartment
A great place to stay. Great location. I love that over a three day stay we were left to our own privacy. A first for us in all the places we've stayed. No waiting for the room to be serviced. Beautiful breakfast foods supplied on the first day for three breakfasts. Lovely room with terrific cooking facilities. Beautiful view over whale bay. Loved it.
Incredibly romantic spa setting in a natural environment. Upscale lodging with outdoor hot tub, patio and grill. Option of having restaurant breakfast and dinner delivered to your suite. Well-stocked mini fridge and access to Netflix in a beautifully renovated attached home. The vistas are great and the well-maintained gardens are even better. Worth the spend for a night or two.
from the minute we arrived , Sarah was a pleasure to deal with . all our needs were met , and they delivered as advertised . upon reading many reviews , my conclusion is people just need to whinge about something . the lodge itself is situated in a private yet beautiful setting , overlooking the ocean , what more do you need . the room was excellent , spa and all amenities fine . we had dinner made for us that night , lamb shanks - outstanding .to top our stay off , my wife and I had massages on the sunday in the on site spa . everthing contributed to a relaxing and beautiful stay . cant wait to come back to Raglan , happy kiwi .
Stunning accomodation - love the eclectric blend of luxurious furnishings. Gorgeous view from large deck and the cleanest private spa on our deck, you could ever wish for. Friendly, helpful staff and yummy cook your own homestyle breakfast. All and all, could not fault. Loved it.
This would be the fourth time I’ve been here and I have sent my staff and friends here also - Sarah and Sharon go out of their way to make your stay amazing. I always feel like I’ve been away on a retreat and this time came here on my own to have some time out and love that feeling that I am in my heavenly happy place I have decided to stay an extra night and will be sad to see the owners move on when they sell x
Without doubt the worst travelling experience of my life. Thought I was getting a four to five star experience for NZ anniversary at big money. Landed up with a one star experience. Old tired and dirty. Avoid this place
Not 5 star It was an overpriced motel room that had nothing that pushed into luxury accommodation... so disappointed
Nice place for a break, what could be better than on the coast of Raglan.
