Very tired looking Motel. Rooms do not have air conditioning. Our room had a bunk bed in it as well as a double. The TV was fixed to the wall and could not move so no way to see it in bed. The bathroom was also tired looking though the water pressure and hot water when it finally arrived was good. The place was booked solid with lots of families and there was noise at night. The front door is made out of glass so there was no way to truly darken the room. It's well located next to s supermarket and steps to restaurants and the waterfront. It's definitely not a place I would ever consider staying at. They make you prepay when you book otherwise I would have gone elsewhere.
Recently stayed in Raglan for a friend's birthday party and booked the double room with an extra single bed. The motel was absolutely immaculate—spotlessly clean and one of the tidiest places I’ve ever stayed. Check-in was seamless, our room was spacious, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. The location is unbeatable, just a few minutes' walk from everything! Highly recommend and would love to stay here again!
We have stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas. The rooms are generous in terms of space. Clean and the bed...sooo comfortable! The facilities lovely but best of all the staff are absolutely wonderful!!. I thoroughly recommend this place. Also it has great conference facilities with a well equipped kitchen. Many thanks Sunset Notel for giving us a wonderful peaceful rest!
A tired looked, old fashioned motel which really needs an immediate upgrade.. we stayed there for 2 nights & was boiling inside the room without a AC. There was a kitchenette without a wash basin , so had to run to bathroom everytime to wash our cups or glasses. Last but not the least, there was not as such any room service, which we asked for while leaving the room. We found our bed was not done , kitchen still having the coffee dust on it.. definitely won’t recommend anybody for this motel. Only gave two stars for the location which is quite convenient.
We stayed at the motel over the weekend just gone. We have stayed a few times in the past as well and the place is always looked after and maintained, clean and fresh. Very helpful front desk sorry I can't remember the owners name. Easy walking distance to anything in Raglan as it's so central. Will be staying here again in the future. Thank you. Stu & Charlotte.
