I lived in this hostel for two months.nThe hostel is cleaned every day and the atmosphere is really cool, with plenty of places to relax and socialize!nThe staff there is incredible. They're always kind and approachable!nI'll never forget everything I experienced there, the people I met, and the hostel's hospitality, which supported me during a difficult time in my trip.
Great experience, highly recommend. Very helpful at the front desk to change to a different room on arrival. Stayed in the female + en-suite dorm for a weekend trip. Squeaky clean and cozy room. Kitchen well equipped even an air fryer!, and also kept very clean.nYes the very convenient and central location is above a couple restaurants that play loud music until late - if that is not your scene, just come prepared with the right mindset and noise cancelling headphones to avoid frustration.nnI met the loveliest fellow-travellers who made the trip even more enjoyable. Friendly atmosphere in the chill areas and the gorgeous view from the balcony is definitely worth coming back for.nnThank you for a memorable stay.
Really nice location, and from what I saw they took good care of kitchen and bathroom areas. Helpful and friendly staff. For backpackers / dorm stays probably a good pick, however must say I found the double rooms to be quite overpriced, the private bathrooms are run down compared to the communal ones, there is no nightlight which I found inconvenient just a very bright light with switch at the door, and through the space between doors and floor comes noise from the hallway and potentially bugs. Sorry to leave this review but I feel it was not really worth the money I spent!
Will definitely be coming back to Wanderlust next time I head to Tauranga! The accomodation alone made my trip worth it. The workers were all incredibly pleasant, giving me good advice on what to do and see, as well as engaging in genuinely interested conversation about the remainder of my trip. But most of all, the balcony is to die for!! It became my 2nd home during my trip, just sitting up there watching the view and the trains go by was pure bliss. Thanks wanderlust!!
Had an amazing stay at Wanderlust! Stunning views from both kitchens. Enough toilets and showers that no one was waiting in the mornings. Friendly staff and easy walking distance to the Intercity bus and nearby restaurants. Very clean, well equipped kitchen and adequate sized rooms. All the other guests were super friendly and it was great hearing all their travel stories whilst enjoying the unreal views from the balcony! Will hopefully stay again on my travels back!
