Excellent location near the Waitomo Caves. The host was friendly, room was clean, and reasonably priced. A friendly dog comes to greet you at the serve-yourself breakfast. Wished we would have had time to use the hot tub. One of our favorite accommodation spots on the trip.Rooms: 5/5
Absolutely wonderful. Tranquil location and fantastic spot. Breakfast was great, lovely hot tub. Trevor was a great host, amiable and friendly. Very clean and modern. Very quaint decor and fine wifi. I can't recommend the place enough. I just hope it does get too popular and hard to book in future. Great value for money. Best stay ever. Nearby activities: Waitomo caves and great real fruit iced cream. Food & drinks: Fine continental breakfast
Had a very nice stay here! We were originally in a smaller room, but since it was not busy, we got to be in the suite with a private bathroom! We were met by the host, Trevor ,and he gave us an introduction to the place, including meeting Jack, the dog. We were able to take Jack on a walk and meet the cat as well. The breakfast is self-serve, which included coffee, tea, milk, granola, cereal, wide selection of fruits, and yogurt.
We were caught up in a major storm, subsequently we returned home without seeing any sights. Trevor went above and beyond by offering the same room for FREE ! We have since used that kind gift . AWESOME place to stay
We stayed in a queen room with a private ensuite. Our stay was very comfortable, the bed was comfy and the room was quite large with lots of closet space to unpack. Lots of outdoor space to hang out in as well, which is nice on a sunny day. Breakfast was simple but filling. Nice stay overall.
Charming B&B. The owners are friendly without being overbearing. The grounds and hot tub are a nice touch. We were there just before the plums were ripe but we found a couple that were edible. The breakfast was an excellent selection of continental favorites. I'd highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway or a nice base to spend a couple of days away on business. Super clean room. Close enough to town to pop out for takeaways but far enough that there's no traffic or disturbances.
There's so many wonderful places to stay around that I'd recommend any traveller to avoid that one. To start we didn't get the room we got told on the phone we would have and got downgraded, not even could I give a name to secure it on the phone, that's some organization. Second, the amount of smell and dust no surprise considering the fake flowers everywhere in such a tiny room made us feel pretty unwell in there. Can add that there's strong fly spray chemical in every space, not great when we are out in the countryside to breathe some clean air. Also, the owner entered our bedroom to make us pay, very awkward. But the best is yet to come, we woke up in the morning and refilled our water bottle in the kitchen where he said at night we could only refill it. The kitchen was DISGUSTING. Food left everywhere, dirty dishes all over the place, very smelly and it's unacceptable to enter a room like this in a so called bed and breakfast. By the way, that kitchen is literally behind the door saying office. So professional. Honestly I have traveled for many years stayed in all kind of places and paying 100 dollars a night for this is the deal you want to avoid. To the owners, please show some respect to your customers who saw your kitchen when starting their day. I always leave positive reviews but this one was in need of a real feedback.
We enjoyed our stay Otorohanga. Near the Waitomo Caves. Lovely breakfast, beautiful setting. Rooms: Comfortable, outdoor area. Nearby activities: The Waitomo Caves. Kiwi and birds place. Good restaurants nearby. Noteworthy details: Friendly host. Relaxing garden. Great breakfast.
Very nice house and room, felt like a home away from home. Super chill environment, friendly as host, lovely brekky included. Just all round great experience, so stoked I stayed here and will be back again for another couples get away.Rooms: 5/5
The host was friendly and very apologetic when the room with private bathroom we had paid for was not available. We were given a refund for the difference between the reserved room and the one we got although we didn't ask for it. It was a quick stay so no time to enjoy the surroundings.Rooms: 4/5
