Wairakei kraftverk er et geotermisk kraftverk beliggende innenfor den vulkanske sonen rundt Taupo, New Zealands største innsjø. Det eies og opereres av Contact Energy og er det største geotermiske kraftverket i New Zealand.
Kraftrverket ble bygget i 1958 og var det første av sitt slag i verden. Etter en utvidelse i 2005, der lavtrykksdampen fra dampturbinene ble utnyttet, har den installerte effekten ligget på 181 megawatt.
Wairakei kraftverk planlegges å bli faset ut fra 2011 og erstattet av Te Mihi kraftverk. Poihipi kraftverk ble anlagt i samme område i 1996.
