I've been here a few years ago and I went back today and it's even more fun than it used to be! Not only do you get to see the amazing props and hear about the things people do here, you get to try for yourself, you get to touch a lot of stuff and you end up with a fun photo! Loved it, and our guide Tessa was great!
For fans of films and film making this is an experience not to be missed. A 90-minute tour with an experienced tour guide Tammy opened up a world of wonder about the making of costumes, props, weapons and visual effects. A great tour, which I've now done twice.
A great experiences to see some movie props and the great work this company has done through their years. Famously known for their work in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films. A must experience for any fan of the series. Got to touch and see some amazing props and some glimpses at the work that goes behind them. Although a lot of the tour is no camera zone due to top secret stuff in there . Book in advance for a perfect time to experience the workshop. I book it in the morning giving me time to explore other near by LOTR locations.
An incredible shop to anyone that loves the work that Weta does. Having the trolls and props outside were super fun. The guided tour was incredible and let you dive into the movie magic and understand how many amazing projects they have worked on. Rhabk you for sharing your creativity and passion with everyone.
Very cool and worth a stop. We didn’t have time for a tour on our way through, but the shop still has some really cool pieces from movies they have worked on, and all sorts of figurines, weapon replicas, books… etc. I would best describe it as small but mighty. They have a wide range of things for sale, from $3 pencils to $2k sword replicas.nnEverything is wheelchair accessible, including a ramp to the entrance. It’s a small space, so can get a little crowded, but the wheelchair was still able to fit through the aisles. They also have a wheelchair patrons can borrow while browsing through. I was on crutches at the time so the wheelchair made my experience so much more comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
