Traveled especially to try this after reading great reviews. Wasn't disappointed! This was 1 piece, yes just ONE, Of the standard fish crumbed, a Hot Dog which was enormous and a half scoop of awesomely seasoned chips cooked just right. Worth a trip and worth the slightly higher cost as it's just done better

Best food ever. I have been going to this place for their fish n chips for a long time and it never disappoints. Excellent customer service and the chips are gold crispy and they have a wide variety of fish available battered or crumbed at a good size and price. I would definitely recommend. Kid-friendliness: Has a small confectionary dispenser with lots of different candy options at the price of $1

Tried a lot of fish n chips all over Christchurch but nothing is even nearly as good as Urban Seafood Halswell's one. The reviews of other customers speak for itself as well. The chips are deep fried to perfection and their fish is just full of flavour. Their price is reasonable. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Totally a worthy drive if you're from far away if you'd like a taste of great quality fish n chips. Their burgers are a must try too!!

Highly recommend the fish and chips set, we got them battered and crumbled and both were crispy even though we did takeaway.

BEST FISH AND CHIPS IN NZ After hearing such great things we travelled in from North Canterbury to try the fish and chips out. We ordered a scoop of chips, a piece of hoki and 2 chicken burgers. Chips were crispy and fluffy on inside, fish was B E A U T I F U L - so soft it was falling to pieces. I would rate my burger but I was so full I couldn’t eat it, my partner said his was delicious. SO HUGE, you could easily get one to share. At first I thought it was a little pricey for fish and chips, but for the presentation, service and the food itself I have nothing to complain about, worth every cent.

After seeing 5 star raving reviews I was very excited to try Urban Seafoods. However I was disappointed with soggy chips and bland fish. The chips were frozen and slightly soggy and underwhelming in portion size. The fish was bland, however getting two fillets for 1 fish was a highlight. The steak and onion spring roll was standard.

Hands down the best fish and chip shop Christchurch. More expensive than others but with that comes the quality. The standard fish battered and squid rings were top notch. Ringing ahead is key.

Delicious fish&chips! I had flounder fish and it tasted amazing. The chips was great and you can choose some sauce. Big portion and you can to buy some fish or sea food to home. and of course! Good price ! I paid 8$ if I have a trip to Christchurch I will come again

One of the best fish and chips in Christchurch. I always have had a great experience here. Quality and freshness of battered fish is the winner, and crunchy chips complement it. Have it with a beer; it will make your day. I highly recommend this place
