Upper Hutt Animal Rescue Society (UHARS) is a charitable organisation founded in 1967 and provides temporary homes for stray & unwanted animals, including those that have been abandoned, until permanent homes are found.
Open every day between 12pm and 2pm.

The ladies are very caring and helpful. All the cats and kittens are lovingly looked after. It's nice being able to visit and become familiar with the kitten before taking it home.
The people here are very dedicated and take great care of the cats. The place itself could do with some upgrading.
These beautiful people provide a service for the animal world that is much needed and I'm grateful for them.
