Story

Welcome to our Facebook page. We are a small and proudly local family business.

Our food is lovingly hand crafted in our happy commercial kitchen in Whangaparaoa on the Hibiscus Coast where we make everything in small batches, using simple high quality, carefully sourced seasonal ingredients, with no artificial additives or preservatives. Where possible we source local and organic products.

We are husband and wife team, Nigel and Trish. Nigel is a qualified chef with a breadth of experience in a variety of commercial kitchens and Trish brings her fabulous skills as a baker and a lover of great food. Our families are a huge inspiration to us and we regularly use tried and tested recipes handed down over the generations.

We have travelled widely and worked in the hospitality sector offshore. While we are drawing on these experiences, our rural backgrounds also influence our love of natural food sources. Nothing pleases us more than to share our love of great food with our great customers.

To complement our food offerings we serve what we class as the best coffee on the coast: the expertly roasted Kokako Organic & Fairtrade coffee. We also have Kokako Fairtrade drinking chocolate, Cosset Chai and a range of organic cold drinks including Karma Cola, Gingerella and Lemmy Lemonade.

We are passionate about looking after our environment. Whenever possible we aim to use biodegradable or compostable packaging. Our food scraps and coffee grounds are composted for use in our vegetable garden and we recycle our paper, cardboard, plastic and glass.
