Hamilton's best kept secret. I've visited a couple of times now, If you eat with your eyes...check out the cabinet food. Kids menu is great too. Nice table layout inside and outside. Smoothie bowls are not to be overlooked. I have 2 fussy pre-teens who loved this place. Parking, wheelchair and pram friendly Thumbs up if you find this helpful Wheelchair accessibility: Easy entrance, lots of space between tables to fit. Double doors to outside area.
Hidden gem cafe in Hamilton East. Lovey vibes in the outdoor courtyard! Serves tasty healthy food with yummy bowls. Both Arnold Bowl & Humble Bowl are my favourites. Also the Sticky Finger Pancakes and Smoothie Bowls. Always my first choice when I visit Hamilton! Way to go, Two Birds!
Such a lovely Cafe, feels a bit hidden from the outside world which makes it even more special. Their outside area has a cute garden where dogs are allowed. The presentation was lovely and the flavors were amazing. A hidden gem worth visiting.
I only had a coffee here on this day and it was perfectly made. I love the quirky vibe, just like a classic kiwi pub, but a cafe! Iykyk. Good range of seating options including the outdoor area, tastefull and modern decor. Doesn't quite do itself justice on the outside front entrance, makes it a nice spot for those in the know or those out and about looking for something new. Lovely cabinet food range as well as classic brunch style menu. Note to self: a great place to bring your dad....he could likely have brunch and a Waikato!
Arrived early just after 9am on Saturday morning. Ordered two soya flat whites and two vegan breakfasts. Was told the till wasnt set up so we could not accept cash. So we said keep the change, and when you are up and running put the money in. Ten minutes later two strange tasting bubbly coffees arrived, soon after two big breakfasts were brought out, with bacon, eggs and meat sausages definitely not a vegan, so they went back. 15 minutes later another member of staff gave us our vegan breakfasts, with a few items missing off the plate. The tofu scramble was quite bad, Turmeric with uncooked white onions thrown in, no seasoning at all. Sausages were a great texture, but again were not seasoned, no flavour. The only nice tasting items were the sweet potato hash brown balls. This all came to $60.00, yes that's right. This place has definitely gone down hill. A real shame!
Came to have lunch here recently and our order was forgotten. My friend commented that this has previously happened with them. We waited for nearly an hour and eventually asked for a refund. Another time I visited there were flies on the brownies/ cookies. The food was left uncovered. As another person mentioned, the chocolate peanut butter smoothie has been reformulated and now tastes incredibly cheap - based on the new smoothie, it should be repriced. Disappointed, as this used to be my favourite cafe in Hamilton photos from other times. I will not bother giving Two Birds another go, as it is clear that the food and service has deteriorated beyond repair.
Had tofu egg benedict One egg was hard, the other was heading that way but still had some run. The tofu was delicious but could've done with more hollandaise or other sauce as was slightly dry without anything
Disappointing Mother’s Day breakfast at Two Birds this morning. Food took over an hour to arrive at our table, even though it wasn’t overly busy with plenty of empty tables. Coffee took a very long time to arrive too. Food standard wasn’t what it used to be, we all walked away feeling pretty ripped off. We paid $100 for 2 adult meals & 2 kids meals. The creamy mushrooms were really average, tiny bit of bacon with it. Was served on a really small plate too so was hard to eat without making a huge mess. Was absolutely freezing inside and all doors were left open so our children were shivering cold inside. Would be great if there had been some heating other than the fireplace. Staff were friendly to deal with but everything else was a letdown. It would be great if they offered table service too, instead of having to go up to order. We will book elsewhere next time.
My first review of this place was a short and sweet - First time I have visited and won't be my last. Food was great and I wasn’t wrong. This is a great place to meet with friends or to have a relatively quick lunch on a work day too. They have a good menu, lots of choice. A selection in the cabinet depending on how much time you have. Indoor seating as well as a garden area. They do lots of different hot drinks including matcha lattes.
I was very excited to try this place as I heard it was good. Took my mum and my partner for breakfast and presentation was very poor also very dark not a lot 0f light. I have the Benedict eggs and the eggs weren't poached the were hard boiled also just a tiny piece of bacon. One thing I like it was the turmeric smoothie but my mum and partner agreed for the prices charged we could have done it better.
