Absolutely loved our visit to Tramcar Diner at Matakana Village! The beach vibes there are truly relaxing and fun, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The boysenberry ice cream was absolutely delicious—rich, fruity, and refreshing. The fish and chips were generously sized and incredibly tasty, with the fish being notably fresh and perfectly cooked. On a chilly and windy day, the hot chocolate hit the spot and was especially comforting.nnThe service crew was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They happily recommended dishes and even let us sample various ice cream flavors without any pressure, which we really appreciated. In the end, we enjoyed a lovely meal of ice cream, fish and chips, and hot chocolate. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food and a great atmosphere—highly recommend!
Incredible menu! So hard to choose. Had the Vietnamese vegetarian pancake and chicken noodle salad. And bao! All dishes were sublime. Flavours and textures were the best I’ve ever had. New owners are lovely and service was great.
A cozy little snack and ice cream shop in the middle of this cute little town. Good place to lounge and snack while enjoying the ambiance of a small town.
You won't miss it, sitting at corner of the round about. This is the spot I would like to sit down and relax after the excitement in the farmers market.
Food is nice and well priced. My burger was well stacked, tasty, and juicy. It also didn’t come with fries which were separately ordered, but very generous portion. Decaf iced mocka was a bit underwhelming for the price. The fish tacos were crunchy good.nStaff were polite but very busy. The setting is cute and actually looks like a tramcar, only drawback is the roundabout directly outside being quite loud. Overall a good experience!
