The staff/owner was incredibly friendly, and the room was squeaky clean and comfortable. We thought in our long trip through New Zealand that this would be a means to an end for a place to sleep before going to Hobbiton, but it was so charming that we found ourselves genuinely enjoying our stay! It's a little bit out of town if you don't have a car. If you do, though, the location is peaceful and nice with a little bike path to walk and see pretty countryside.
Very well-kept room with a functional kitchenette. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom had everything needed. Parking is easy under the carport near the room. We ordered food to the room via Uber Eats, and there were ample facilities to make this easy. The check-in process was also very smooth; there was a sign on the reception wall guiding us on what to do. The hotel is relatively close to the Hobbiton Movie Set. Don't hesitate if you plan to visit and are looking for accommodation nearby. Nearby activities: Hobbiton Movie Set
Lovely place to stay the rooms were brilliant and the bed super comfy. Owners were so helpful and caring. Downside is it about a 20 min walk to town but only 5 mins by carI didn't have one Would definitely book again
Quiet, semi-rural location on the edge of Matamata but still only 5 mins drive to restaurants/takeaways. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious with excellent amenities. Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms: Clean, comfortable and spacious.
Very worn. Beds awful not very clean very out dated and overly expensive for what the room was. Nothing like the advertised pictureRooms: 2/5
15 mins from Hobbiton! Good location, decent amenities. Friendly staff. Back yard area with seating and garden, room for kids to play. Only qualm was unreliable wifi
Great place to stay. Clean & tidy. Only problem is there's no couch to sit & watch tv. Would have been nice to sit & relax while we were there. Good shower & comfortable bed.Rooms: 5/5
I stayed here last year in May 22 and was one of if not the most welcoming , relaxing, clean and hospitable spots to stay in, it’s become a frequent spot for all my family that have been travelling in and out if MataMata in the past 12 months. The caretakers are the loveliest people. Will be first choice of stays for me when back in the area. Rooms: Warm, Clean, spacious , kitchen , cosy Nearby activities: Close proximity to everything and town
Couldn't fault the stay. The room was immaculate so clean and tidy and even felt clean. The bed was super comfortable. Tracy and Kevin were fantastic hosts highly recommend. Beautiful walk out to the Tower this morning to start the day. Not much road traffic noise either. Will definitely be booking and staying with them again!
