Went to the hospital last night after walking the Tongariro crossing, was in so much pain in the knees. The nurse that took my initial consultation was so lovely, the doctor was very informative and kind. Very impressed with how caring and attentive they were.
With the a & e department Me and my partner were told it’ll be a 40 minute wait which we were okay to go with, turned into 2 hours missing the pharmacy for pain relief, just to be belittled by staff for symptoms where my partner was experiencing a lot of pain which was ignored and listed as seems okay which is a common experience throughout every interaction here not to mention majority of the time we spent was in the lobby how could such a description be made when the nurse wasn’t in the vicinity for those two hours?? could do with much better communication and understanding of patients not to mention pain relief for the headache was the only thing supplied rather than the actual pain source and not even any further medication to get her through to the next day when the pharmacy opens
The early morning nurse is very rude towards me and has been since I first got here. The first night I was here with my boyfriend. I was accompanied by her, and my boyfriend was holding my hand for support. She had asked him to move away. She is probably the worst nurse ever. I don't get that nice welcome feeling. I get the feeling of being non-welcome. It's a bit rude since I'm there for help, not to waste time.nI recommend that if you're younger than 18, record yourself near her so you have proof of how rude she is. If you're alone or with others, be safe.
Nothing negative to say about this hospital and the staff. I came to A&E in November with a dislocated shoulder and was received with compassion and care. The staff were truly wonderful and the doctor from Tauranga who was helping out there was fantastic!nUnder extreme pressure the staff really do their very best. Thank you Tokoroa A&E!
Rarely see the good reviews - I've been here three times. The first with sepsis, I believe they saved my life. The second for maternity ward - which is lovely, like a hotel stay. The third for my husband with suspected appendicitis- fast, respectful treatment
