Toi Te Ora Public Health is the public health unit for the Bay of Plenty and Lakes districts. Our vision is lifelong health and wellbeing for all.
Our service, Toi Te Ora Public Health (Toi Te Ora), is funded by the Ministry of Health and we are the public health unit for the Bay of Plenty and Lakes District Health Boards.
Our vision is lifelong health and wellbeing for all.
Our purpose is to improve and protect the health of the population in the Lakes and Bay of Plenty districts with a focus on reducing inequalities in health.
As a public health service, we focus on developing and delivering programmes and interventions that benefit the health of the whole population and of specific population groups in our area. We plan and deliver services that promote, protect and improve health, prevent ill health and minimise the risk of disease and injury. We do not provide clinical services for individuals.
We place an emphasis in our work on improving the health of Maori, children (including maternal health), and young people.
Our dedicated team of around 50 staff are located across four offices in Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane and Taupo.
