We really enjoyed our stay at the Lodge. We were looking for accommodation for one night and stayed another, because we really liked it. It’s a very special and unique place as it‘s an old hospital, with a little spooky vibe. You can tell the owners put lots of effort in this place, the bathrooms are very clean and the kitchen is well equipped.nThe owners are very welcoming and friendly and their cat is super cute. We would always come back!
On travelling through the Catlins, we needed accommodation unexpectedly, and Jan was courteous and welcoming and so good at her job! If ever there was a person suited for hospitality it was Jan! So much so that I still remember her name some weeks later. Excellent, clean and tidy with exceptional service.
I camped here for one night and absolutely loved the place. The receptionist was super friendly, the facilities were clean, and for the price this place is absolutely lovely. Don't expect the fanciest accommodations, but this was one of my favorite places I've camped at in NZ!
Great place: historic hospital turned onto a lodge. Loved the old building; wooden floors etc. Room was basic but had everything needed and really good value. Shared spaces like the kitchen were also well stocked pots, plates, cutlery etc. Good base to explore the Catlins
we had a great stay there, good value for money, amazing staff and cool atmosphere in the old hospital. hot shower was nice
