THISTLE SWEET SHOP Now where do l start with this little lollie shop full of eighty odd years of history, with a new owner behind the helm, this is a family affair. First time in this shop it was special to see all those goodies on display, lovely big glass jars of yesterday, the home made fudge the owner makes, very very nice. The imported lollies, they have just taken over the business so waiting on the imported lollies to come in. Decorative jars on the table you can buy. What a fabulous little shop to visit, people really do need to visit this icon of a business to keep it going. Take a drive to Wanganui and buy some fudge. Thankyou Louise.

I remember visiting the Thistle Sweet Shop on a family holiday in the 1980s and being blown away by the beautiful selection of sweets and lollies. Today’s visit more than 30 years later was just the same. I’m thrilled that the shop is still family owned and still going strong. They now sell cake decorating and chocolate making supplies, too.

Love this sweet store. We can always find what we are looking for. Specially love the gift packs and the fudge. So many options to choose from so its easy to match colour themed partys etc

What an absolute gem of a shop....love love love....it takes you back to your childhood memories of sweets and store ambiance back in the day...cosy and a warm hospitable place to be in....if there was room for a seat l wouldn't mind at all staying longer. Reminiscing in this old Whanganui Business is oh so good and the sweet selection fabulous thanks team.
