Story

In 1912 J.J. Boyd's zoo opened in Royal Oak with lions and all manner of exotic creatures.

Before long one of the lions decided to escape - only to be recaptured by Mr Boyd's son.

We've named this estabilishment The Zookeeper's Son, as a reminder that sometimes you need to be let loose....

What an amazing evening. Good to spoil yourselves! Davin was an amazing and attentive waiter who went above and beyond normal service. We will be back, time and time again! This place is incredible. Good food, great wine, great cocktails
Hannah was our waitress and made the whole experience! Great food, portions and drink selection. An amazing pub for anyone who is looking for a nice vibe with amazing food on offer. Big shout out to Hannah, she was helpful and had a great “do” attitude
My family and I just had dinner there and it was delicious! Nice and spacious restaurant setting for families, as well as outdoor area. The service by Benjamin, Daryn and Rome was amazing!! Was an awesome experience!! Will be coming back again :
Amazing Amazing Amazing!! From our welcoming to the time we left. Food was 10/10. And on top of that our waiter Nadia, was Amazing 11 out of 10! We would definitely recommend to everyone, and would definitely be back again. Thank you for your service.
A lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Great ye olde pub atmosphere inside too. Good beer and food, not gourmet, but tasty and value for money. Friendly and happy team of servers.
Had dinner here tonight and can honestly say we enjoyed our time, the food was amazing, the service was just as great. Our waitress NADIA, was beyond amazing.... thank yoooouuuu Nadia for your delightful, warm friendly service. We are definitely coming back again soon...
