Galbraiths Alehouse & Brewery was founded in 1995 by Keith Galbraith who wanted to be able to put his hand on his heart and say "this is the best beer I can put in a glass and the best pub food we can put on a plate".

Great choice of House Ales and Beers. Amazing place with classic vintage feel and ambience. Outdoor seating area is awesome + Inside seating is great too. Great food, nibbles and drinks. Must visit.
Food is nice but not quite as good as it used to be a couple of years ago miss those triple cooked chips. The beer is excellent and few pubs in NZ can compete with a building like the old library. New garden is fantastic.

I come here on a regular basis as it's around the corner from the office. They have great on premises brewed beer and recently added a great cottage style courtyard at the back right in time for summer.
I've not been here for ages and was a nice surprise to see they've extended out the back and made a lovely beer garden! It was nice sitting there today in the sun with a pint of cider! And lovely Sunday roast as always
Great range of beers and the food is really good too. Nice relaxed atmosphere and very handy to The Powerstation if you are in to live music.
Nice meal, good service, but Steep steps leading up to door; needs handrail. I've had a double hip replacement not elderly and I had to walk close to the wall round the front edge of the building as I went down the stairs. Nothing to hold onto. It felt precarious.
Friendly, occasionally cheeky staff with a ready smile. Excellent craft beers and a menu with just enough choice in it to please the majority. Galbraith's is a lovely old character building, and in my humble opinion, perfect for a couple of quiet ones with friends and family
