On the way from Tekapo to Christchurch, we passed through this charming little town; in the city center, we spotted this restaurant, cozy decor, friendly staff; the portions were quite generous, especially the pasta, accidentally ordered too much
Nice bar/restaurant in the centre of Geraldine. We enjoyed our food choices, a ploughman's and a salmon salad. The service was friendly and enthusiastic despite unexpectedly large numbers for a midweek evening.
Popped into this restaurant today for lunch what a hidden gem!!! the waitress takes a order for 4 people drinks and food without writing it down and gets it 100% right. The food was simply amazing. I got the fish and my God it’s been a long time since i have had such a succulent and delicious piece of fish. Highly recommend this place it’s absolutely awesome
Stopped in for a meal on Sunday.nCannot fault it at all. Being a bistro chef in the past myself, everything was perfect.nHowever, being charged six dollars for a glass of soda, water was a little offputting.nApart from that, thank you so much for a lovely meal, my compliments to the chef.nAll in all a lovely dining experience.
Called in for a drink in the afternoon with the intention of going back later for dinner.nThis place has so much potential… the building could be spectacular… beautiful stone work and exposed timber beams. Unfortunately it is very dated and run down inside. The fire place is even boarded over with cheap ply wood and a printed A4 photo of a fire. No atmosphere at all.nnStaff are lovely but such a shame it’s been left like this in prime position in such a wonderful town. Prices are far too expensive for the quality of the venue.nWe chose not to go back for a meal and as The Hop was closed we drove to Timaru instead, sat at Speights Ale House in front of a beautiful rustic gas fireplace and had a wonderful meal in a beautiful restaurant.
