The Spice Rack

Went last Sunday first time for Buffet breakfast. Food was good and fresh. Service reasonable as it was empty but would have still appreciated the staff to check in on dosas and puris. Considerably expensive $25 for the food options available. More like a south indian buffet. Other buffets elsewhere have a lot of variety for that price. 2 chutneys Dosa/idli/vada sambhar 1 potato vege 1 chole Rice 1 Dessert was supposed to be kheer I believe but we didnt like it as it was runny They dont do alacarte for lunch and that was disappointing but again it was our first time there.

Fantastic Dining Experience at Spice Rack Albany I recently visited Spice Rack Albany, and it was a fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, the place felt warm and welcoming. The menu has a great variety of Indian dishes, and everything I tried was so flavorful. The Mirchiwala Chicken was a standout. I also loved the Chocolate naan and the mango lassi, which was the best I've had. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. The presentation of the food was also really nice. Spice Rack Albany has definitely become my favorite spot for Indian food. Whether you like spicy dishes or something milder, there's something for everyone. Highly recommend check it out!

Very disappointing The curries were some of the worst food I’ve ever had in a restaurant, ever! Incredibly bland, absolutely no flavour at all. The vegetarian entree platter was actually quite nice, and the breads were good. But the curries…..awful!Food: 1/5

We enjoyed a beautiful dinner at the Spice Rack tonight,. The food was very delicious, full of flavour, the highlight was the chicken cooked in the tandoor to perfection. I loved the briyani with chunky pieces of meat and their butter chicken is the best you will find in Auckland. Kid-friendliness: My kids loved the food here

Naan bread was good but that’s about where it ends. We used to love this restaurant’s food but sadly the standards have dropped significantly most recently. The curry was bland and very watery, just tasted like meat with tomato and cream.Food: 2/5

I Love the food at this restaurant but the chicken biryani wasn't nice that I ordered tonight and this is not the first time that it has happened. I love most of your dishesincluding biryani about a year ago but Biryani wasn't even close to biryani and it was more likely chicken pullao with extra oil in it. 2 stars for the raita as it was super yum!

We had our dine in today and it is so far the best Indian cuisine we have ever tried. Friendly customer service, curry is not that salty and can taste the spices with the chicken also super tender. Great And unique experience for the taste of Indian culture.

The taste that's very close to our local food in India. So far we tried thier chicken pan fried rice, Indo Chinese chilly chicken and paneer Tikka. So good that it made us go back to our old days of tasty authentic Indian food. It's a very decently busy place and there is a good number of regular customers and heaps of take away orders. If you like Indian hot, ask for hot dishes. You will never regret. Now it's one of our go to places in Albany for dinner. It's best to book in for tables if it's during weekend and also let them know if you don't want to wait for food. They will give you amble time to talk and then serve food as that's the kiwi culture. Try it and enjoy it. thanks
