The food was okay, but a bit too sweet for my liking. Most dishes seemed to be covered in sugary sauce, even the fries had a sweet coating. The cornbread and the special butter were also very sugary, which made them hard to enjoy. The coleslaw could’ve used a bit more flavour and seasoning too.nnI know this place gets a lot of hype, and the staff were friendly, but for me, it just didn’t quite live up to expectations. Overall, it was an average experience, good in parts, but not somewhere I’d rush back to.
Deliciousness! We always come back everytime we visit Abel Tasman. Yummy food, lovely staff, great vibes! Love their donuts, too. Keep up the good jobs, guys!
Have seen multiple influencers advertise this place. So had to check it out while I was in the area. Breakfast was amazing. Service was amazing.nWe got in early, as by the time we were leaving the place was filling fast and getting quite busy.nWe had heard about the infamous hamburger donut. Unfortunately, they did not have them today, but we took away a Boston Cream and Eggs Benedict Donut.nEnjoyed them that much later that day when returning back through the community, we stopped and grabbed another two donuts, Cinnamon and Apple Crumble.
Our son wanted to come here for his birthday this year - primarily for the meat selection but also donuts! - and the Smoking Barrel did not disappoint. Jo was super helpful in the planning stage, the FOH staff were amazing at taking time with us even sang Happy Birthday, and the food was amazing. Meat. Donuts. Milkshakes. 8/8 people were completely satisfied and happy! Thanks again.
An awesome little cafe/restaurant. Never had a bad meal here and the staff are fantastic. The last steak I enjoyed was a 650gm marbled rib eye. It melted in my mouth. Well done Joshua and team, youve out done yourselves again. Next time it's hopefully a tomahawk.
