Wonderful place in a special part of New Zealand! Lovely rooms, fabulous views, excellent breakfast, gracious and warm hosts. The model of what a vacation inn should be. We spent several weeks in New Zealand and this was among our favorite places to stay. We can't say enough good things.
Amazing stay! My husband and I spend 4 days to celebrate our wedding anniversary in this property and every single day was a delight! Our host, Glennis and Dave is very accommodating and friendly! They recommended us with numerous things to do around town, restaurant that they love. The property is well maintained, room is heated as well as the towel rack. Ohh toilet floor is heated too which is amazing! Shampoo, body soap and conditioner is available. Bed is comfy and my husband asked for a firmer foam they have it upon request. Breakfast selection if pretty good, too! There’s few selection of different cereals, mixed nuts, canned and fresh fruits, coffee machine and tea selection is impressive! There’s also yogurt and Glennis offered us with toast with numerous selection, as well. India, the house cat is down for a pat or two. Overall, our stay is incredibly memorable! I hope we could see Glennis and Dave when we come back! Thanks guys!
Glynis and David are great hosts. The views are fabulous. Highly recommended. Rooms are spacious and very clean.
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. It was my husbands birthday while we were there so I had been in touch with Glinnes beforehand to get some restaurant recommendations. She booked restaurants for us and a taxi and produced a beautiful small cake on birthday morning. Glinnes and Dave are very welcoming and the house is so comfortable. Our bedroom was lovely. I can’t recommend Sanctuary at Bay of Islands enough.
We stayed three nights and loved our time at this little slice of Heaven. It is outside of Paihia but not far which is perfect if you don’t want to be in the thick of the tourist town. The views are spectacular. Glennis and partner Dave are really warm and generous hosts. They offered great service and advice to places to visit, all of which were spot on. Breakfast was delightful with an array of fresh fruits and muesli. A tip would be to book restaurants in advance to avoid missing out. There were some fab places such as Tera Tera in Paihia and Sage in Russell a must visit that were a no go due to peak season. It really was a private sanctuary, one we would highly recommend.

This Boutique accommodation truly lives up to its name. Nestled into the side of Paihia with stunning views of the ocean, the host Glennis made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The food was great, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. This is the place to go if you want a relaxing home away from home in the Bay of Islands.
Amazing and spectacular, the views are Excellent and the rooms are decadent and well furnished. The hosts Yogi and Glennis were great, and really made you feel welcome and added to the experience, the breakfast is top notch too with continental or cooked, or both ha. Really amazing time and will defo be back!
We stayed here for four nights and had an amazing time. Glennis is a great host, we felt very looked after. Highly recommend staying here if you are wanting a central spot to explore the Bay of Islands and chill-out to the great views of the bay.Rooms: 5/5
Excellent!! The view, atmosphere and the rooms are so relaxing amazing and comfortable. The complimentary wine, beer , juice etc is just awesome plus the devine dinner and breakfast!The hosts are very friendly and make our stay so memorable! Highly recommend this place!
