I went here for dinner about a week ago and was wonderfully surprised. Although they had mixed up our reservation they quickly sorted it out and the food was delicious, dessert was my favorite! Lovely waiters and also loved the local art work for sale around the restaurant.
The food was incredible. More like what I would expect at some expensive Auckland restaurant, but this wasn't expensive. The service was friendly and relaxed and the atmosphere casual yet interesting. Our meals appeared very quickly, and apart from being outstanding texture and flavour, but satisfying portion sizes, attractive and hot. Great dining experience. Highly recommended.
The Royal is now owned by Crossroads, lovely service with fabulous food. I tried the Prawn Fettuccine and it was absolutely fabulous. Thank you for a beautiful lunch
Relaxed place to stay, enjoyed it. Clean and comfortable, good security and right in centre of town. Staff very nice.
I have eaten in this restaurant on many occasions over the past two and a half weeks and it is some of the best food I have eaten around the world. I have tried many dishes on the menu including desserts and everything was amazing. The chef and the whole kitchen staff work so well together and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxing. I highly recommend going into the restaurant for either lunch or dinner and enjoying this amazing new dining location in Opotiki.
We ate here not to long ago and we were not too impressed, the male serving us was very scruffy. A little word of advice, train your staff to look clean and tidy it makes all the difference. The food was mediocre and I suggest possibly some more training needed on service and with the cook also do you have a Facebook page ? Would also like to review there.
We went with our pre school staff, some positive and some negatives. Definitely dropped since new management has taken over. I think the cook is different now ? The pork belly was served with a majority of fat on it not good at all. The steak with seafood sauce we asked for med and it came out med rare. Waitress didn’t even care the prices have gone up and the service and food down. Keep working on it I’m sure you will improve with time! The desserts were great ! So all in all a good end to the night ‘
My wife and I stayed at The Royal Opotiki for several nights over the past two weeks. We stayed in a family unit and we found it just right for our needs. There is a great international atmosphere and the facilities were great. They have a great outdoor area to relax in and a fully equipped kitchen to help save money. Whilst here we also took the opportunity to eat in there restaurant which was exceptional. The food was bar far the best food we had in all of New Zealand. The prices were very reasonable and we never had a meal that we didn’t walk away from feeling full and satisfied with all the flavours. I highly recommend wether your local or not go in and try it. You will go back for more.
We went to the Royal for dinner on new year's eve had the most amazing dinner everything was cooked just right, we had 3 courses and enjoyed all of it and luckily for us this night they had inhouse entertainment which was a real treat and 1st class. The staff were great we asked for a recommendation on which sauce would go best with the steak and the waitress could not have made a better choice we will be back again.
A spur of the moment decision that I'm glad I made. Despite an obviously busy night, the staff remained friendly. Very reasonably priced accommodation. Clean. The menu too was reasonably priced. Delish. Will definitely call again.Rooms: 5/5
