Was in town to watch Celtic dancing last year needed a place to have a meal and a drink. A friend suggested this place. It was amazing! The food was again amazing, I ordered a burger and fries my friend got calamari, chicken tenders, fries. We were able to get to drinks for price of one till a certain time so we had gin and orange juice then we hit the cocktails. The apple martini with it being like a slushies is the reason I’m coming back this Sunday and yes this time I’m taking a photo of my food! Don’t judge it’s so good! The service was amazing the bar tender was a very friendly guy who just has absolutely great vibes! He made the night out even better considering we don’t go out often. The atmosphere in the club is also amazing as well totally recommend coming here. The food is a clear 10/10 the service is 10/10 the promptness is 10/10 the vibe is 10/10 This is the place to go in Wellington. Thanks again I do have photos of my drinks so I will share those lol Might I add I’m a fussy person to please so me giving a high star rating is super rare!
Lovely pub, staff were very friendly, very cheap alcohol at $7 a pint which is great for travellers/backpackers. Pool tables are really good fun. They had a nice balance of music that wasn't too loud and being able to hear whilst listening to the music and talking. My only feedback would be the bathrooms need to be cleaner better, they were smelly and toilet paper in the sinks and floor. Would definetly come back and it's a nice pub to have as your local.
The atmosphere is great and it's totally worth what u pay..... as compared to other bars in the city.... Great selection of music Will be highly recommended to everyone.Food: 3/5
Pool tables are a good shout, usually some event or the like happening during the evenings, can be a bit of a mission to get to the bathrooms as there's an area just outside that people congregate in meaning it's hard to tell who's waiting for the bathroom vs. waiting for their mates.
Surprisingly good cocktails when other dedicated places are shut. Open until 4am and a good vibe with super friendly staffService: 4/5
Came for their 2 for 1 burger and it was horrible! Both our burgers were such a let down. The cheeseburger was so dry and the patties were so hard and dry too. The other burger which was the chicken burger was disgusting. We couldn’t eat the chicken in d burger as when we cut open into it, it was not cooked completely and it has such a bad smell too. Guess we enjoyed the fries and bingo night tho.
Sadly I don't av a gd word ta say bout customer service tonit. We were planing to av dinner and drinks BUT asked 4 a red wine as happy hour but informed NO red wines 4 happy hour due being sold out prev nit. Asked if she coukd give me ANY red 4 happy hr prices but informed NO. I certainly WONT b goin back THERE.Service: 1/5
Had a little friends reunion with the girls & we were recommended by other friends ‘The Residence’ for some good bar food, drinks & service. Glad we came to this bar because we had the best night! The bar staff were amazing, one bartender in particular was an absolute vibe. He was very friendly, accommodating, made great cocktails & served us with a smile! Im pretty sure his name was Jacob? With service like his I would definitely recommend this bar. Great food, we especially enjoyed the pizza. Lots to choose from on both drinks & food menu. Will definitely come back if we have another night out.
Edit: Did not realise this didn't get posted until now My daughter and I are visiting Wellington for WoW. We are currently preparing to fly home today but I wanted to commend the handsome brown Pacific/Maori young man that was working in the evening lastnight. Alone, might I add. We first arrived in Wellington last week and walked right past this place thinking nothing of it until lastnight. That young man is amazing to watch work and he has a beautiful soul to match. Got tired just watching him. We finished our wine and we turned around to find him having fresh full glasses for the both us which was on happy hour. Happy hour or not, I would pay full price if I got that type of experience everytime I visited anywhere. One of the best customer service we've experienced since being here in Wellington. He is a keeper and I would steal him for myself if I had a company in hospitality. The food was just as amazing. Even watching her work alone. It's so rare these days to see young people working hard but at the same time, actually enjoy what they're doing. I smiled a little when I seen the young man and the lady do a high-5 after it settled down abit. Unsure if they both will see this but on the odd chance they do, job well done and a massive thank you for making the end of our Wellington trip one to remember. We will definitely be back.
I read the recent reviews. Maybe things have improved recently. My wife and I stopped in for happy hour on a Sunday while Jacob was bartending. He was personable, helpful, very on top of his position. We met a number of regular customers who were fun to spend beers with and learned a bit about Wellington and the neighborhood. If we lived in Wellington, we would definitely come back. If you want a regular pub with a great happy hour daily and reasonable prices, you should stop by. If you want something more upscale and pricey with a bunch of tourists, go to Olde Bailey.
