"ROC is a non-profit organisation established in June 2005 by former refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who personally experienced many settlement difficulties, and felt that the integration process in Aotearoa was too long and left many gaps of understanding. They wanted to address the issues by advocating, educating and informing individuals and families from refugee backgrounds and other disadvantaged people in our community.ROC now runs over 13 programmes, at low cost or free to participants, that provide support to former refugees of all ages and ethnicities. Our goal is to empower former refugees to thrive in Aotearoa, not just survive"
