Friendly local pub to keep up with the sports but also a space for a family-friendly environment for a quiet catch-up or to celebrate with your family and friends. Awesome daily specials. Their homemade pizza is amazing and completely worth it. A hit with adults and kids. Kid-friendliness: A space you can easily bring your kids along to. Colouring activities for kids to keep them occupied. A kids menu to feed any craving.
Hands down the best burger and wings I’ve had in Wellington, and it’s not even close. I have to ask them to hold the lettuce and sauce as the lettuce is shredded and therefore makes the mix a bit watery, which in turn causes the bun to slide all over the place, but today I just asked for cheese and ketchup, and this was the right move. I was able to taste the medium-rare chargrilled flavor to perfection. Absolutely delicious. It’s a real treat when we come here for dinner. The spicy wings are equally good I ask for them to be made well done, and I hold the ranch dressing and just get the spicy sauce. Simple is best, and the results pair perfectly with my mildly manicured burger.
Absolutely fantastic for karori's lovely local Restaurant and bar.Fantastic service and delicious food for all.Highly recommend,do make reservations before hand,as yes it's popular.Food: 5/5
They haven't changed the menu for a long time and maybe it's time to change it a bit or add more food choices. Their food is OK. A good selection of beers are on offer. I like how they named pizzas, names of the streets in Karori, the suburb where Pickle Jar is located. It is a popular place for family and friends to catch-up and can be a bit noisy when full of chatting customers, they have the TV on sports channel too. They have a trivia night on Tuesdays that fills up the whole place.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great service. Only ordered fries, but they were bang on, crunchy outer, soft moist centre, great seasoning. Would definitely visit again.Food: 5/5
Waited for over 30 minutes for food which normally wouldn’t take that long. Staff were practically serving drinks from the bar and food from the kitchen however none actually checked on their tables. Got told there was a ‘mix up’ and got a refund which was adequate. Staff needs better training and the place needs a better system.Service: 1/5
Ordered the buffalo hot wings and chips & dip. Cooked perfectly. Wings were crispy and coated with a perfect amount of sauce. A nice heat from the spiciness too. Chips were crunchy, golden brown and light and fluffy, and the dipping sauce was a great flavour. Will definitely be back again.
Came in for lunch and got the delux pickle burger and chips which was really nice, both the burger and chips. But it cost $28.00 and that doesn't include a drink. No complaints about anything except the Hi cost...and this was the cheapest! I'd recommend this place to you too apart from costing an arm & a leg.Food: 4/5
The food was amazing. I had 500g of chicken wings. If you like deep fried crispy chicken you will love these. The sauce was amazing. My husband had a burger. The pictures speak for themselves. The food was Yummy and service excellence. Plenty of food so no-one went hungry.
Staff are friendly, food value for money is ok. Note, you must order your food and drinks at the bar. Atmosphere? There are different nooks and crannies here, all very different. You may not like some parts but chances are you'll love some other parts. When you're there, have a wander around and go find a table in the part that you like! Parking bays are a bit tight, if you have a wider car, consider parking along the street, especially on busy pub nights.
