We visited Pepe cafe for lunch recently. Both of the Loaded Wedges With Bacon and the French Toast were delicious. The cappuccino was also really good. Expect a bit longer wait times in summer mid morning as this place gets busy for brunch.
The Pepe used to be my favorite place to stop. Today was disappointing as not only was the service super slow, but the food was not up to standard. The Café had a total of 4 tables at the time i ordered. It was quiet, but coffee took forever and, unfortunately, was rather average. I ordered the waffles, which did not come as described. The dish was missing elements, and although i understand sometimes these things change with availability, the standard of the meal for the price was ridiculous. My mother ordered the Pepe breakfast, and she enjoyed it, but the poached eggs were well overdone. Over all just felt let down and don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

We came in at 10.20am for breakfast, on the 1st Sunday, the place wasn't too busy around 6 tables were taken 1 x 5 people and the rest 2s. I ordered and was told a 30min wait, then my friends after me were told 45min wait. I order the pepe breakfast, fries, and a smoothie. We got drinks pretty quick but they were bad, coffee was terrible, the smoothie was not a smoothie, unripe banana milk. The food arrived 54mins later, they didn't even send fries out 1st! The breakfast was cold, bacon and eggs undercooked, hashbites still raw, half a piece of bread, not toast, it was inedible, I said to the waiter that my meal was cold, and not cooked he said well it been under the lights so it should be and he was so rude, it was disgusting, did not want to discuss it and took off. I then took it up to the counter explained what was wrong and I was offered a refund, the girl on the counter was amazing, she was lovely and very helpful. However I was also charged a 15% surcharge, now it was not a recognized public holiday where you need to pay your team more which is why a surcharge is put on, but I did not even get the 15% refunded back. It was a huge disappointment and unacceptable behavior in a kitchen/Cafe. I did offer to help cook and train the chefs .. as no matter how busy you are you should not wait that long, it's breakfast, the easiest service! Absolutely disgusting to the industry .. I will never go back.
