About

A dedicated making space for sparking creativity. Founder, Sheelagh O'Dowd is a tactile artist and craft lover who encourages her guests to gain hands on experience, offering either one on one tuition or private, tiny group workshops in her makers room.

"Our cafe is now open serving hot/cold drinks, cake, savoury snacks, beer and wine. We are dog and walker friendly so a perfect place to rest while visiting The Ridgeway National Trail - and we have a lovely large garden for the kids to enjoy. We're busy transforming our adjoining barn into a bright, open space where you can learn to make something beautiful in one of our classes or purchase craft supplies and handmade goods from UK makers. Our extensive range of modern craft supplies are now available online via our new website."

Interesting and unusual place to visit: it’s part quilt maker workshop and part cafe. Run by Kate and John, all welcome, including non-lary bikers! They provide various breakfast options. I opted for the full English at £10. The portions were on the slim size for the price but you get get lots of toast plus they did have marmalade. Pot of tea slightly weaker than expected but on the whole was good. Excellent choice of cakes and scones plus sausage rolls. Got talking to John who has a Harley. The local Harley group turned up whilst I was there as we exchanged pleasantries. Worth a bimble but don’t expect large breakfast portions.
I’ve stopped at a lot of cafes while out cycling. This is one of the very best. Definitely the best sausage roll I’ve had for ages. Very good coffee. Very friendly people. Lovely space. I will be back!
Incredible coffee and cake! lovely staff and great space. Looking forward to seeing this spot grow and develop over the years. Dogs also very welcome
Such a delightful place to stop for something to eat. Staff are super friendly, coffee and tea are delicious love the red and white Cornishware and the cakes are simply amazing. Plus it’s very dog friendly and the pretty garden has plenty of seating. Fabulous!
Chose here for a pit stop leading a run along the Ridgeway. Excellent selection of cakes, far more than we could have hoped for, homemade of excellent quality. A warm welcome, pleasant shady garden, excellent service and spacious sparkling clean loos. Everything that you could hope for to fuel your activities in the area. Thoroughly recommended.
I lived locally for years and moved away. Came back and it’s great to see this place finally back in use. Dog friendly, lovely staff and great food and drinks. Lovely inside and great garden out the back. Definitely worth a visit!
The ladies staffing the cafe were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The food, although a bit "Tree hugging" for me was good. My wife is very much into crochet/knitting/dressmaking so the adjoining shop interested her a lot. However, she didn't buy anything because she said it is a bit expensive. Parking: Parking is good Dietary restrictions: There were lots of options for vegetarian/vegan types
Great to see an old abandoned Pub brought back to life. Lovely tomato soup with gorgeous cheese scone - perfect winter warming lunch.Food: 5/5
Very nice environment, a good selection of unusual flavoured cake and they do a nice coffeeFood: 5/5
Lovely, first visit. Courtyard and patio area plus inside covers. Nice gardens. Menu will be on line. Had Mocha and sausage/egg brioche bun. Smallest of gripes - I'd like a slightly larger drink mug. Dog's allowed, friendly staff
