Go here very regularly. Incredible local pub restaurant, with rooms upstairs for staying also. The staff are the best anywhere. Really friendly. Great beer garden, which is good in winter as well as summer because of the outdoor heaters and is also very dog friendly. Very good food! Highly recommend the mixed meat platter, for two or three people it’s an incredible feed. All the steak meals are excellent. The lamb shank, the burgers, the nachos, basically all the meals are really good. The desserts are also very good and very large portions. I believe the prices are fair too, given both the quality and portion sizes. Big thumbs up recommendation for here
Popped in for Sunday lunch for the end of my birthday weekend. Didn't think we could go wrong with fish and chips. Wrong! Tiny piece of fish was old and inedible. Salad was oil drenched and old. Only thing on the plates that was fresh was the wedge of lemon.
Well you are obviously not unfamiliar with poor reviews. We have been regular customers for 8 years at least. Mostly service and food was average to good. Last visit 3months ago was under welling .As ellesmere club members we were confused about what benefits were retained or not. Appreciated the improvement in cleanliness and out door environment but service has gone down hill. Went back today in the hope of a better experience. A JOKE. no interest from staff food less than average. Orderd butter milk chicken 23.00 and calamari 21.00.chicken over cooked and no attempt to present well. Just burnt chicken and some chips no garnish salad nothing. Calamari flavorless and dry. Coleslaw served with calamari either highly seasoned or going off was eneadable I mentioned to the wait person we were not happy and the response was a robotic. Oh yeah ok.would love to support and visit again what can you do to recognize us
Ordered Angus Rib eye steak and served sirloin. Despite advising of the difference was adamantly told by bar staff directed by kitchen staff I was wrong, multiple times. Gave my meal back and didn’t ask for replacement or refund. Customer service and attitude less than optimal although they clearly stick together.
28 Apr My husband and I turned up for a late lunch early dinner / snacks just after 3.30pm.nWe waited a couple minutes to be seated.nWe were given menus and the waitress was to return in a couple minutes to take our order. 30 minutes later we were still waiting. They didn't seem busy, a few patrons outside drinking, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. I could see no food was being prepared in the kitchen.nPoor service, very disappointing.nWe left at the 35/40min mark.
