We are the New Zealand Agent for Bukh, Beta and John Deere Marine engines. We also service many different makes and models of Marine engines and gensets. We carry a wide range of spare parts in stock and provide a great aftersales service.



"The Engine Room Ltd was established in 1992 and has been providing the Marine Industry with new marine engines, servicing and spare parts since. The Engine Room Ltd is proud to represent the highest quality brands and products available in the marine market, including ‘Beta Marine’, ‘John Deere Marine’, ‘Bukh’ and ‘Scania Marine’. Located in Birkenhead on Auckland’s North Shore, the Company is ideally located to service all types of vessels with various wet berths, haul out facilities and complementing services close by. The Company has its own fully equipped workshop as well as a generously stocked parts department staffed by experienced personnel."

I purchased a Yacht that came with a 5 year old Beta Marine engine. Andy has been SUPER helpful and supportive with all my questions and servicing and concerns. For example I could not find the recommended Idle RPMs, I called Andy and he looked up my unique engine number on the system, and was able to tell me it was set at 1010rpm when it left the factory floor at what date etc..
The team at the engine room recently serviced my Bukh DV36, she's getting on and had a number of issues. They worked though them keeping me fully up to date and informed as they went. I was given the opportunity source the odd part that was not available locally, saving money. At the end an extremely detailed report of all the work was provided, the account was large but fair given the extent of the work. But what really impressed me was their back up. Not long after completion the engine developed another problem which proved to be something outside of the scope of the their original service. They attended promptly, identified the problem, remedied it over a couple of visits to the vessel, supplying parts and labour in the process. Problem solved, quickly and professionally, well done lads. But it gets better, I was expecting a bill, it was fully justifiable, and I got one. The value $0.00! I didn't ask for it and I didn't have to. This is a company that understands and clearly believes in the meaning of after sales service. They stood behind their workmanship 110%. So Andy, Richard, Vicki and the team, you guys rock, thank you. And to anyone reading this, they impressed me, I highly recommend them. Paul Ashman
