Vivio teaches, performs and choreographs under the name The Cuban Groove Dance School.
Whether you join a class, or witness a live performance, you'll be captivated by his magical presence on the dance floor, and a fun-loving approach to teaching.

Vivio is the most accomplished and experienced male Cuban dancer in New Zealand, offering more than 40 years knowledge and experience. He has been performing and teaching in Auckland and nationwide since arriving here in 2002, sharing the hot, sexy and sublime rhythms of Cuba and the Caribbean!

From the age of 11 to 20 years old, Vivio trained at the prestigious National School of Dance in Havana, graduating with Honours. He started his professional dancing career with Ballet de Camaguey and, then, as the Principal Dancer for the Danza Contemporania de Cuba for almost 20 years, during which time he toured the world performing in hundreds of shows, as well as teaching.

Vivio arrived in New Zealand in 2002, working as the Principal Dancer and Choreographer with the famous show Lady Salsa. He loved New Zealand so much, he made it his home and has been dancing, teaching and choreographing, as well as judging leading salsa competitions, ever since.
