The cowshed is a purpose built, small family care and respite facility for both dependent and independent people with disabilities.

Story

The Cow Shed is a purpose built environment for people with physical and intellectual disabilities on a lifestyle block right on the Hamilton boundary. At the Cow Shed we aim to run a meaningful and community based program, with a focus on the natural environment. This includes, but is not limited to, interacting with animals on the property ( sheep, pig, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, dogs, horse), walking to the park, bus rides, swimming, shopping, music sessions, and meeting and greeting visitors from the various organisations which have weekly scheduled sessions.
The complex is fully enclosed and suitsbto all levels of disabilities, and there are items to suit sensory, physical and intellectual needs.
We also have the opportunity to offer a range of options to suit your families needs. At this stage we are operating four days a week. The facility is also available for use for respite care, for up to one person with their own carer overnight, or after school as required.
