Our Team
Alan Cockle
Alan is of Maniapoto, Tuwharetoa, Raukawa, Te Ati Awa and Kahungunu ancestry and was mentored by his elders in tribal protocol, histories and te reo from an early age.
Alan has worked in both public and private sectors providing guidance in leadership skills at both the coal face and management levels. Alan is also an experienced facilitator and Chair. This experience has been acquired through many professional associations which cover Whānau, Marae, Hapū and Iwi to Land, Property Administration and Governance. Alan’s diversity of legislative knowledge ranges from Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, its preceding Acts and subsequent amendments and Māori Land Court procedures to the Residential Tenancies Act 1986, the Housing Restructuring Amendment Act 2000 and the Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2010.
Juanita Pene
Juanita is of Te Atihaunui-a-Paparangi, Ngati Hauiti, Tainui and Kahungunu descent. She is Alan’s wife and provides administration support to Alan and ACA.
With a diverse career path spanning roles in the Maori Land Court, Chartered Accounting Firms and District Health Boards Juanita brings to ACA a wealth of experience in administration and financial management advice and support, and has also worked with a number of maori land trusts, companies and Treaty of Waitangi claimants.
