The Cats Pyjamas Backpacker Hostel.

We are located in Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula, North Island, New Zealand.
The Cats Pyjamas is the most centrally located backpackers hostel in Whitianga. It is on the main street, close to the beach, shops, bars, tourist information, bus stop and ferry terminal.

The Cats Pyjamas has a communal kitchen and bathrooms, large lounge and outdoor areas to relax in.
There are dorm, double and double en-suite rooms available.
BBH members welcome.
Weekly rates available for guests undertaking seasonal work or activities in the area.

Had a graet time over there, 1min walk from the beach and supermarket. You can rent a bike in town for the day and go explore the amaizing sites near by, such as - Cathedral cove, Stingray bay & Hot water beach.
Such a magical place in the heart of the coromandel with lots to do in the surrounding area. Do not miss out on this place, the vibe and layout is very cool and super welcoming. You will feel right at home and not want to leave, I know I did.
Bed bug infestation. Hostel has good atmosphere but v dirty. All young backpackers. Woke up after first night with bites all over my body and blood stains on the sheet. However did receive a full refund and money for the laundromat.
Just fine for a place to stay for a night. The facilities are fairly dated and some things in the small kitchen weren't working. The private twin room is quite cramped with creaky bunk beds. The location is great as it's a short walk to the beach and the town. Popular with long term guests.
Got a private double room. The room was good with a comfy bed and clean sheets. The showers were not so good but useable. Did not use the other facilities. The place has a nice vibe and friendly staff. Guests were nice too and went out the night we stayed there.
Had a great night with my partner breaking all the rules and putting our mattresses together on the middle of the floor and fell asleep together sunburnt and with murmurs of backpackers in the background. Five Stars. Great staff and atmosphere.

Amazing place. Stayed there for over 3 month because of work. Nice managers, really good location 2 min walk to the beach/the city/4square and a big cozy living room to meet other people. I had a really good time. :
