We were just looking to get a coffee for the road to Mt. Cook. Saw this as the closest cafe from the car rental. Boy are we glad we did. What a nice surprise. We loved the ambiance inside the cafe. The staff were so friendly and polite. Like everything/everywhere in New Zealand, so clean and comfortable. There is a barn outside and sitting area and facts about bees and I believe there is also bee farm. We didn’t get much chance/time to explore but what we saw was already impressive. Quite a large selections of honey inside the cafe. We had the cinnamon roll, savory scones and lattes. They were delicious!! I highly recommend this place and spend a little longer time exploring than we did.
We had the absolute best time at Buzzstop! Started with a meal beautifully plated and flavorful with filling portions. Then did the combo tour—could not recommend more!!! The tour guide & owner was an incredible teacher and story teller. We got to participate in making our own honey to take home with a label of our own family photo. So unique, educational, & memorable. We will recommend to all family/friends.
This cafe as part of a community hub is a hidden gem. Country Lane is collection of local businesses in a kind of collective. Definitely a must visit if you’re into something different, sustainable and local.nI had a turmeric latte with alternative milk and it was delicious! I also bought some NZ honey that tastes amazing. Support local and put Buzzstop on your list to visit.
Absolutely loved my visit to Buzzstop! I ordered the Big Brekkie and the Buzzstop Ice Cream Waffle—both were amazing. The sautéed peppers and mushrooms in the brekkie were incredibly flavorful, pairing perfectly with the crispy bacon, sausage, and poached egg. The ice cream waffle was a delightful treat—soft, sweet, and beautifully presented.nnThe chef was super friendly and chatty, making the experience even better. The outdoor seating is fantastic, with bean bags on the lawn for a truly relaxed vibe. It’s a great spot whether you’re catching up with friends or just enjoying some time alone. Plus, there are little bunnies hopping around! The interior has a charming, vintage feel, adding to the overall chill atmosphere. Definitely a place worth visiting!
We visited Nick and Buzzstop in December. What an amazing experience. I learned so much about honey bees and how the hive operates. We did the honey spinning tour and tasting. He teaches you about Manuka honey and more during the tasting. It was so fun to wear the bee suits, hold the combs, and hold the drones We also ate lunch and did some mead tasting at the bar. Everything was outstanding and plenty of honeys to taste and buy too.
