A bit pricey but worth a visit if you are in Frankton heading to Queenstown. The staff aren't very friendly but the food was tasty and of decent quantity. Location, especially the outdoor seating is lovely as it is right on the water. The hot chocolate could have been better though! Would definitely go back when we visit Queenstown next.
It’s not often a brunch place gets 5 stars from me, but the food on offer here blew me away! A tiny two man kitchen produces a delicious varied menu with something for everyone! With a view over the lake and the mountains, with attentive staff, fast service and delicious coffee. I had the cilbir poached eggs…they were probably the most delicious poached eggs I’ve ever had! Alongside the granola we followed up with a warm banana and chocolate muffin! A little out the town centre but a short bus ride away, this is definitely worth a visit! You will not be disappointed!
Cozy cafe in Frankton. We didn’t realize it’s packed with people until we came inside. It’s very low key from outside I think but pleasantly surprised that it is popular with the locals and tourists alike. Came for breakfast as recommended by a friend. Good selection of dishes, they change their menu per season. Great service and nice view. The Egg Benedict was delicious! And the dessert was perfect with a cup of tea/coffee. Could be busy but don’t worry, there’s loads of parking space. They’ll even subsidize your parking ticket if you can’t find a space outside the cafe and use the Pay &Display outside.
The Boatshed Cafe is beautifully situated right on the lake shore with stunning views across the lake to the mountains. It's very busy for breakfast and lunch at weekends, so booking is advised if you don't want a 20-minute plus wait. Also, shorefront tables have the best view, but need a nice day too. Coffee and food are very good and service is efficient and polite. Some wine options are also available. Definitely the best way to brunch-start a sunny day as the view and the multitude of birds in the tree will transport you to a happy place.
Our first experience here was so great, we came back again the next day to try the other items on the menu! Coffee was delicious as well, food was astronomical, views were amazing and staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend!! Note: there’s a paid parking approx $2 an hour next to this place if you can’t find any free space outside the cafe.
Cool atmosphere and design, delicious food and beautiful views. Make a reservation to avoid disappointment. We went on a weekday, thinking it wouldn’t be that crowded. Couldn’t be more wrong. Was lucky to have waited 20mins for a table, with an amazing view. I have to say the only downside was the staff weren’t the friendliest. A pity for such an amazing cafe. There’s limited parking just in front of the cafe.
We came here during Sunday brunch time. They looked really busy, but there are tables in front so you can order coffee while you wait. And we were seated in only 15 minutes! It was a nice sunny day, and they have tables on their outdoor patio facing the lake, which we were lucky to get seats on. The view is stunning. As other reviewers have mentioned, the food is on the pricey side, but I think the ambiance and quality of food justifies the price. My friend ordered the chorizo scramble and I ordered the mushroom toast with poached egg. Also popular is their French toast which I saw many orders for coming out. All the food is beautifully plated and tastes great! I really enjoyed my mushroom toast. Very generous heap of mushrooms and the bread was chewy and perfectly toasted.
Love this place - friendly staff, great food, great coffee and situated in a historic boathouse right on the lake. Very busy in the mornings but worth the wait. And, of course - the views are spectacular. Grab a coffee then another one and enjoy the place.
What a gem we found in Queenstown! We accidentally went in for a quick morning stop but enjoyed it so much, we spent a bit of time here and visited this small cafe again the next morning for the exact same menu. They have it all, great indoor & outdoor seating, a lake view, a good range of menus, tasty food, fabulous coffee, and professionally friendly service. The Boat Shed Cafe & Bistro became our regular morning stop in Queenstown. Parking: Plenty of parking just in front of the cafe but it seems they are always full.
Nice cafe by the water just outside of the main town centre area of Queenstown. Portions are pretty big so justifies the slightly higher prices - ordered the chorizo scrambled eggs and the salmon waffle. Both were delicious and very filling scrambled eggs come with crispy potatoes underneath
