Received a L’Oreal Steampod for Xmas. The box was damaged and looked like it had been opened already. I had read and researched the product extensively before so was extremely disappointed when I actually got to run it through my hair. I have fine wavy hair. The plates didn’t meet, it was noisy, there was no steam coming out of it, strands of hair were pulled. My husband went to return to The Beauty Store on Monday but apparently the manager wasn’t there and would be in on Wednesday. He duly returned to the shop in Broadway this morning and ‘the manager’ refused outright to do anything to assist other than return the seemingly ‘brand new’ straightener to L’Oreal. Contrary to what it states on the website regarding refunds and returns within seven days. I must now wait who knows how long for a replacement or worse refurbished item, which was an out of box failure and returned within four days. Can someone please explain to me how anyone would know the item is faulty without actually trying to use it. The customer service we have received from this store is disgusting and leaves a lot to be desired in this day of customers keeping businesses afloat. If there was a rating for zero stars I would have chosen that, however to enable me to post a review I have had to begrudgingly award one. In future I will only be spending my hard earned money with retailers who stand behind the products they supply and have a belief in ethics!! I don’t imagine being treated like this by reputable companies.

THE MOST HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU WILL EXPERIENCE. Don’t bother dealing with this company. Their Olaplex bottles were in questionable quality with the lables not properly attached and not even level. When I approched them about this, there were being very sarcastic and rude. You wouldn’t expect a $50 bottle of hair conditioner to have misaligned lables, etc, would you? Looks very shady. And with that kind of customer service, you will be better off buying the $10 fake Olaplex from Aliexpress. You will probably get the same quality products but with a better customer service. Don’t be fooled by their aggressive social media marketing.

Had an amazing customer experience with The Beauty Store! Staff are lovely and products are authentic and at such great prices! Very happy to support local, Kiwi-owned businesses like this one! Would recommend to all and will definitely shop here again! :

Do not buy off this company, they will not satisfy the consumer guarantees act which is something they cannot contract out of, this is When they sell you something faulty. excusing themselves by saying it’s the suppliers fault, they cannot accept returns because of covid, implying they would resell open faulty products otherwise? dodgy! My experiences at The Beauty Store have been top tier. I always come in to buy the Crew styling gel, where I am immediately greeted by friendly staff, who are beyond knowledgeable. With products being very reasonably priced, The Beauty Store is absolutely my go to.

Outstanding customer service and very friendly and helpful staff makes shopping here highly recommended! Staff offered a range of products for hair care and helped me chose the right product for my needs. Definitely coming back again.

I ordered a couple of products from them two weeks ago and have still not received my order. Their communication with me via email is basically non existent. They have done nothing to help me with the status of my parcel and which courier company or depot it is with. They’re very happy to sell and take peoples money. I’ve even asked for a refund and they haven’t communicated with me.

This store has a fabulous range of hair products , even Olaplex & the GHD range , best prices so much more reasonable than hairdressers! The girls were so helpful and their store is very well presented .

Really poor and unprofessional customer service to be honest. Steve who I dealt with via email was very defensive and downright rude when I asked why my Olaplex bottle looked different to the one I ordered online. Still no response in regard to that question. Not worth the time buying here again. Also, maybe check next time you’re forwarding an email thread that you’re not gossiping about the customer in question because they’ll be able to see it lol
