Good food and milkshakes, great service
It’s probably the best place to come for brunch in Stratford. They have a broad selection of cabinet foods and a brunch menu. For some reason, it was very smoky indoors when we visited, everyone was sitting in the smoke and our clothes smelled like smoke. I recommend their Cuban Pork Sandwich.
Excellent coffee and selection of pastries. Highly recommended as a coffee stop in Stratford, which for some reason does not show when one taps the coffee search icon on Google maps! We only came here on a recommendation, and glad we did.
Stopped off at The Baking Company, Stratford, on the way thru to New Plymouth.nnWas disappointed to see the sign saying 'Kitchen Closed', but was delighted to see the huge array of cabinet kai.nnI had the Pork, Apple & Fennel sausage roll, and it was delicious. I also got a kāwhe, cappuccino with chocolate and a mango Smoothie.nnThe place was packed, and there was a ka pai vibe going on. Service was excellent, kai & kāwhe arrived promptly and with a lovely smile.nnIt's definitely worth visiting, and I hope tontry out their menu another time.
Did a mad delivery dash to New Plymouth and back. Was feeling really pecking by the time I got to Normanby but continued on to Stratford for something to eat. Cruised past the multinational on the left and spotted the Baking Co., sign round the roundabout. Parking was at a premium outside the Cafe but there is loads on both sides of the street and also round the corner towards the council buildings. Oh, and more than likely the main street.nIt looks quite small from the outside but once inside there is loads of seating and room.nThere's a selection of freshly baked bread and then a huge selection of savory options and sandwiches. Plus sweet treats too. I was served straight away by one of the friendly staff who quickly asked what flavored sausage roll I'd like as there is a choice of three. Wow. Pork and apple sounded appealing but I chose the traditional Kiwi sausage roll, a slice of lolly cake and a hot chocolate to go.nI should have taken a seat and savored this meaty morsel but I was wanting to get on the road. It would have to be one of the best, if not the best sausage rolls I have ever eaten. It was huge too and not greasy. Packed with meat and just the right amount of onion and seasoning. Mmmmmm yum.nThe chunky theme continued with the lolly cake. It was sizeable without being outrageous. Although who would complain.nThe hot chocolate was hot but was manageable by the time I was through Eltham. And down right delicious going through Patea.nThanks guys really appreciated the fast service and delicious food. Like Arnie says 'I'll be back'.
