Looks flash/new, hospitality at front desk great/friendly, nice restaurant be it expensive -> reason for two stars. Reason for two stars -> no AC, you would call animal rights on someone if you left there dog in the hotel room. Fan and window simply moved hot air and gave me no privacy. Cool in reception, cool in restaurant and a sauna in your room. Fridge seemed to warm things up rather than keep cool, no stove, small room, will be staying elsewhere. Apologies from the staff where genuine, have spent so much money making the place however try to save money on AC and fridge? I have never been to a motel/hotel without AC, have you? If not come to this one on the west coast on a summers day!
The Alvis Car Club stayed at the Hotel for their AGM - we cannot speak highly enough of the service we received whether at breakfast dinner meetings. Each and every member of the staff is a treasure. We would have no hesitation in returning at a future date. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so enjoyable.
First and last time January 2023 An absolute hot dog box of a room without air conditioning. Sweltered through a sleepless night in ridiculous humidity whilst outside was mint . One window opens 4 cm .. useless. Terrible pillows ... Small bathroom. No cooking facilities and a broken fridge. Akin to backpacker accomodation. Staff on a hiding to nothing. Never again.
Lovely hotel but no A/C in the room which left for an uncomfortable night sleep during a heat wave. Staff very friendly and Catherine in the breakfast room was incredibly friendly and helpfulRooms: 4/5
I can't in my right mind think of any reason why this hotel has no soft closing Doors. Between 630 and 700 Doors wil be slamming as they close automatically. Be prepared be awakened by then. The room was also still very warm following the heatwave, and would't cool down even though we kept the window and door open as much as possible. They do provide a fan which helped. Other than that a great hotel. Friendly service, clean, modern and all the amenities you could need. There is also a pool. Gym as well, a bit outdated and old, but atleast it is something.
Very nice & comfortable stay. A few mins drive from town centre. Has bar & restaurant... lovely food!Rooms: 5/5
Great place to stay, we arrived after our 4 day West Coast Wilderness Trail ride, hot, tired, and feeling every muscle in our bodies. The pool was a welcome relief and the spa pool really made a difference to the joint aches. But, the accolades don't stop there. We dined in the hotel restaurant and had a most delicious meal. Our room was clean and tidy, the bed very comfortable.
Only stopped for 1 night room was super clean and tidy. The spa was just what my back needed so thank you for telling me about itRooms: 5/5
I’ll start with the negatives. This place is in dire need of a reno that means renovation. A lot of the rooms are extremely dated. The owner really seems to love the colour gold too. The showers don’t have detachable shower heads always a shame and they only seem to shoot out scalding hot water. However, the staff are brilliant. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. They even have a clothesline so you can dry your clothes in the sun!
The exterior of the hotel looks dated. However we were very pleasantly surprised upon entering the room. The room was very well appointed, with a great bed and done up very well. We enjoyed our stay and will stay again if we are in greymouthRooms: 5/5
