The best and most unique café we have been to on our NZ road trip.nThe food was outstanding, the interior is beautiful and cozy, the beverages were all very good and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. What a beautiful place. I’d absolutely come back to this even if I had to make a detour.nnOnly thing I personally would have preferred is the hotcake to be a little less sweet. My mother liked it this way though, so just my preference. It’s super filling so don’t underestimate it.
Visited in November 2022. Fantastic friendly team at the cafe, with a buzzy, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The on site baked Tees Street Cafe chicken and vegetable pie was a candidate for one of the best pies I have ever had, simply amazing with chunks of moist, tender chicken and very fresh tasting veges, in a creamy, semi-caramelised onion white roux filling. Pastry well-cooked, buttery and flaky, while still firm. The pie was served at just the right eating temperature freshly crisped from the oven, and came with decidedly good and also very fresh-tasting home-made tomato relish. 9.5/10 maybe a slight touch of chili needed in the tom relish for focus, but that is only a personal preference.nThe chicken, kimchi and grilled cheese toastie at Tees Street was also amazing - my first and completely delicious introduction to the grilled cheese kimchi toasted sandwich combo. I've had quite a few since, but this was hard to beat!
Absolutely stunning venue, decor, atmosphere, coffee & food!nThere are lots of seating options and gorgeous& very healthy live plants everywhere. I had a small mocha which was strong and delicious accompanied by the super charged breakfast which had an assortment of scrumptious fresh flavours! I left very full and satisfied & works definitely return!
Took a wee bit at lunch time but those bao buns are absolutely amazing! 100% will be back. Keep up the good work :nAlso had the “Razza” drink which is a welcoming alternative to the typical sodas!
Beautiful cafe in the town. Pork bun is good enough for 2 pax.
