Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a family focused and values based organisation working to build strong whānau and vibrant communities.

Story

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is recognised nationally and internationally as a model of success. As the mandated leader of Kahungunu ki Heretaunga, we have been working alongside the whānau of Heretaunga for the past 31 years, offering medical, dental and psychological care health promotion, youth, social and education programmes. We lead marae and community development, and support our communities through political advocacy. Our extensive campus in Orchard Road, Hastings, is home base for around 200 staff, of whom 80 percent are Māori. We are family-focused and values-driven. Strong Whānau, Vibrant Communities. Very hard to get a doctors appointment, When you ring reception, your told straight away sorry theres a 2 - 4 week wait, which is rediculous, when your not well, which then changes your attituded, & you voice your dissmay, then you may get a reply we can put on the tre-arge list & a doctor will ring you, Appaulling Service for the last few years, just to see your Doctor, I diffinitely feel for the frontline reception worker, they are the staff that have to deal with, managerial decisions, like the above, Im stuck with this Service provider as there are no medical Clinic's taking on new clients. It feels like a revenue collecting service, not a health care provider, providing health care, very dissapointed & disgusted Te Taiwhenua O Heretaunga Hauora, the only great service there in my opinion is the onsite Pharmacy, great service, lovely staff.
It's okay. You are way better off talking to the receptionist than using the tablet to check-in. Also, communication could be better when I ordered a Vaccination which cost me a lot. I would like to have known when it arrived. But their urgent care system works excellently, and their use of 'Myindici' works very well. I hope they add more Telemedicine like those in the future.
This clinic is very supportive, they are currently helping me stop vapor smoking. Whaea Barb gave me patches and lozenges to help with the craves... I am currently 3days smoke free.
After the cyclone Narnie was amazing and supportive. Taking her client and daughter and myself for not showers and giving us meals and letting us do washing and also giving us hot water for drinks and a gas hot plate. Also she did welfare checks every day to make sure everyone was ok and letting us charge our phones. Thank you very much for all your support and kindness you are one amazing lady . A walk in 3rd booster jab for us. Welcoming, efficient, calm and effective. A myriad of patients but collectively both a professional and personal group of medical personnel. They were assured supportive and engaging considering it was New Year's Eve. Excellent service in a well laid out and multi functional one stop medical shop for whanau.
Mum has terminal cancer and she still has to wait for the Dr's for an appointment. Rang one day they said can't see u till the 4 went in the next day can't see you to the 3rd.. all the time my time is getting shorter with my mother
Grossly unorganised. Handed in enrolments for me, my wife and son in November. Been in 5 consecutive times about enrolments and either been told someone would be in contact which didn’t happen or that enrolments we’re done. It’s Almost 4months now and my wife went in for a needed appointment and found out still unenrolled. I appreciate times can be busy but don’t continuously lie. I had to say each time please don’t say you will do something or it is done if it is not. Such disrespectful to and unreliable behaviour to continually get.
During our COVID isolation with my partner, this organisation help us most. They supply our needs. Big thanks to Julie, awesome and kind and also to the delivery personnel who brought our needs. Thank you.
Please explain the date of appointment Given no date or invoice and considering you offer a free drs service how did this come about? another lie? Please send me an email with attached invoice. Almost 2 yrs later and still being greedy souless perpetrators see photo below Signed me up, done virtually nothing and anything they did get under my name aka funding for assistance with food and clothing never received it but someone did within their employees. What else did they use my name for that I have no clue about Offered to drop me off at msd alone and told me, ask msd for a sleeping bag to sleep on the streets. Thank God for an amazing msd employee getting me accommodation 30 minutes before closing and stayed on after hours until she could get me eh accom. Weeks later Notified te tai Whenua I believe I was in a midst of a stroke left side now has a drop on that face from time to time. No assistance again from nurses, support worker etc from this organisation. No notes from the g either regarding trauma to the brain. Thank God for the police and my case worker at the time having to take on Te tai Whenuas role to assist me as I had received trauma whilist surviving with brain trauma and some lovely strangers. Again Te Tai Whenua did nothing but laughed, mocked and basically neglected their duty to assist vulnerable people like myself unless your connected by blood and or have connections and or affiliates. Seeing this organisation on media and acting but in real life not trustworthy. In my photo my left eye is absolutely bloodshot and still have issues today not excluding but including left side partially paralysis at times amongst other symptoms. Balance, strength, sight and left side of brain thanks Te tai Whenua for costing tax payers I should of been on the mend and working but now on a disability
Wow, in level 4 lockdown, had a vaccination, they were very well organised, I don't believe they could have been any better. The team worked very well together. Thanks for keeping us safe.
