Story

Te Matuku Bay located off the coast of Auckland New Zealand is where we have been growing, harvesting, shucking and sharing the creamiest oysters since back in 1997.

We put a lot of tender loving care into growing the most delicious oysters so that we can share the love by proudly serving them at our friendly local shop on Waiheke, it's finest eateries and Aucklands best restaraunts and bars.

But we don't just do oysters, we also specialise in selling the freshest and finest selection of seafood from our shop. Whether you're fresh to the oyster scene or quite the connoisseur, we gaurentee you'll discover something in our delicious selection that will keep you coming back for more.

As we've been in lockdown and I felt like a 'Treat Yo-Self' kinda Long weekend, as we didn't go QT...sooo that's what we did. Fantastic service, from emailing Shelley during the week, to receiving them Friday. Quick and easy. Packed to perfection and just fresh n creamy and blooodddyyy delish! Te Matuku Oysters are my favourite and this was worth every $$ for long weekend along with a few families who also thought so too!! 10/10

Amazing! We had freshly shucked oysters which were heavenly,  ceviche $5 for a small container... Amazing value and super fresh, and a sashimi container with sashimi marinated in sake and soy sauce included a few other things including beet salad. Plus the owners were super friendly and helpful :

Best value in the Island. Brought a smallest size  raw fish salad $5, raw tuna on rice with a smoked mussel and salad $10. Good quality, good portion.

Great quality of Te matuku oysters and very delicious. Have a little price but still worth to buy and eat. Just staffs weren't very friendly...

Clean and tidy, but a bit pricey

How can you not love freshly shucked local Oysters, they were up there with the best.  You can either get them to go or eat them there.

Very good price fresh oysters. If it's on season it's definitely the best. Always sold out the chowder. Sad didn't get a chance to have it again.

Surely some of THE best oysters in the world - these Te Matuku oyster farmers especially encourage a 'deep' shell allowing a sweet, fat oyster to grow with plenty of juice, this makes for a burst of natural zippy salty taste - sensational!!!

I absolutely adore this little shop. At first when the tour bus had mentioned them by name, I was a little skeptical. However, for around 20 NZD, a dozen oysters is not a bad deal.  Staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Although my trip to Waiheke was short, it was definitely memorable due in part to the people at Te Mataku Bay Oysters in Ostend.  Highly recommend anyone visiting or staying to give them a visit.

Ceviche is world class and only $5 happy price such a oasis in the island. Oyster was also fresh and way cheaper than any other restaurants.
