Te Kōpuku High is a new partnership school in Hamilton City that grows vibrant futures with technological, creative and digital pathways.
If you are in Year 7, 8 or 9 in 2017, you
are invited to begin your own pathway to
greatness with us.
The curriculum at Te Kōpuku High is built
around four major themes: whenua (land);
wai (water); kai (sustenance); hau (air). These
will be explored via a STEAM approach,
where Science, Technology, Engineering,
the Arts and Maths, are used as tools for
engaging learners in inquiry, discussion and
critical thinking.
This kind of learning grows young people
who are able to take thoughtful risks, accept
responsibility for their decisions, engage in
authentic problem solving, and work through
a creative design process.
These are the innovators, educators and leaders of this generation and generations to come.
Language is the vehicle through which we
contribute and participate in the world. At Te
Kōpuku High, we understand the importance
of learning codes as the basis for all language
learning. You will learn te reo Māori, in te
reo Māori, in English, in New Zealand Sign
Language and write computer code if that’s
your thing. There’ll be lots of opportunities for
self expression in whichever language you
prefer.
