Te Kākano's 1200m² nursery, is nestled in the shelter of an extensive QE2 Covenanted kanuka forest near Waterfall Creek on the shores of Lake Wanaka.
OUR NAME:
Te Kākano is Maori for The Seed. For Te Kākano this means to plant a seed of environmental stewardship, to help it grow and bear the fruit, to assist other communities to take the seeds of this fruit and plant them in their own land.
OUR PURPOSE:
The core purpose of Te Kākano Aotearoa Trust is to support communities in fostering healthy lands and waterways so as to create a stronger link between the environment and humanity.
