Having been a Super Yacht Captain for many years, I live and work in high quality environments when it comes to service. It was refreshing to be on the receiving side for a change and it was absolutely top quality. Our stay was brief but the Moores family made us feel special. So peaceful and tranquil, service was outstanding, food was perfect. Our dietary requirements were catered for with caring and thoughtfulness, as I mentioned, perfect. Highly recommend Te Arai Lodge, it is up there with the very best. Thanks to the Moores family for a very special experience. The A+++ team.

Our stay at Te Arai Lodge was absolutely incredible! We would literally return to New Zealand just to experience this beautiful family lodge again. The setting is stunning, the accommodations are tasteful in every way, the food is off the charts and the hosts are as delightful as they come. This was most certainly a highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend it.
My wife and I spent three relaxing and wholesome days at Te Arai lodge in February. The meals created by Nicola with all organic and local produce were exceptional, as were the perfectly paired wines. The setting, pool, and attention to detail were amazing. The Moore family provided world class service and are an authentic and lovely family. We highly recommend visiting Te Arai Lodge, and we look forward to our next stay and attending a few more yoga classes with Doug!
I cannot speak highly enough of Te Arai Lodge. The accommodation, property and catering is perfect in every way, the rooms beautifully appointed and furnished, the food delicious and presented in a modern and most appetizing manner, the wine selection fantastic and generously poured!!!! The family are gracious , helpful, interesting and attend to every request. I loved the freshness of the food and the use of local ingredients, even from their own kitchen gardens, and attention to healthy living, such as the breakfast juices. Thank you for your warmth and hospitality, looking forward to another visit.
Te Arai Lodge is an absolutely magical place to stay. From the beautiful lodge, stunning views and the warm, welcoming and very talented hosts. We loved our accommodation which was peaceful and relaxing. The food was delicious and we loved how Nicola, Vince and Kathy presented the food. A truely enjoyable experience which we would recommend to everyone. We only wish we had longer to enjoy all the activities on offer.
Exquisite..... My wife & I stayed for two nights at Te Arai Lodge to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. From the time of our arrival to the day of our reluctant departure, the overall experience was exceptional. The Moores family couldn’t have been more hospitable and their combined passion for ensuring guests enjoyed every aspect of their stay at Te Arai Lodge was evident in abundance. The setting for the lodge is idyllic, the accommodation superb and the dining experience exemplary. We’d like to extend our gratitude to Vince, Kathy, Nicola & Doug Moores & their team for making our special celebration all the more memorable for having spent it at Te Arai Lodge. A truly exquisite experience.
Staying at Te Arai Lodge was the last stop of our 1-month honeymoon in NZ and was also the best experience of our trip. The Moores family is super welcoming and made us feel at home for 3 days. Everything is perfect, from accommodation to food, but most of all, the atmosphere that is very relaxing. We really loved it, and will definitely be back some day!
We have just come home from an amazing weekend at Te Arai Lodge. We were looked after so amazingly well spoilt actually by the Moores Family - they are all exceptional people. The food is amazing and most of it is exceedingly healthy as well.. all organic and a lot of it straight from Kathy's amazing gardens. The rooms and bathrooms are very large and have fabulous furnishings and bathroom goodies and bed side home made chocolates each night. I definitely recommend this Lodge . Fabulous beach just down the road, surfing lessons can be organised, dirt bikes - nothing is too much trouble. Beautifully quiet and the birdlife amazing.
Exceptional hospitality with an inspired personal touch. Our stay at Te Arai Lodge was a blissful, unforgettable respite from the day to day. We found a little piece of heaven in Northland, memorable in every way. The accommodation is luxurious, perfectly blending privacy with impeccable hospitality and attentiveness. No thought has been spared and it's the little touches, that make a big difference, from service to cuisine to hosts with personality plus. They could not have done enough to make our stay whatever we needed it to be. Then nature and the surroundings of this idyllic spot provided the rest to perfection. Nestled in native bush, New Zealand shone at its finest, from bird song, to sunrises to a night sky packed with stars, appreciated from an outdoor bath. The food and wine is a degustation delight, thoughtfully curated and prepared with local fresh produce and that special ingredient that makes great food sing - love. Highly recommend if you're looking for something extra special. So worth it!
