We needed to book last minute around 7pm due to other accommodation we booked not being suitable. Staff were lovely, very inviting and made sure we had everything we needed. Room was clean and warm, cooking facilities and great bathroom facilities.
Could be such a nice place to stay if only the owner didn't have such a poor attitude. The facilities are nice, the areas are spacious. But she got quite snippy with my partner when we queried the pricing. Wasn't willing to honour advertised discounts - okay peak season, I kinda get it, except that the advertised pricing was literally the only thing that set this place apart from other holiday parks in Te Anau. Was happy to give us a 10% discount as long as we paid cash, pretty dodgy in my opinion, but a discount is a discount, I guess. 9 months into our caravan tour of NZ, and probably our least favourite place to stay. If you can ignore poor customer service and dodgy business practices, then you might have a lovely stay!
Was a bit nervous about staying here after I read some of the reviews but this place was wonderful! We had no trouble with the wifi, check in was quick and easy, and our tent spot was secluded and just what we needed for three nights. You can see the lake and the mountains from the property and the bathroom/showers were immaculate - clearly cleaned every day. It felt like a luxury camp site! Would absolutely recommend.
The facilities at this camp are good. The staff member that we met was awkward and I was unhappy with the way they treated us. We asked about access to the river and was told that we had to walk out onto the highway and down the road for about 800mts. The place backs onto the creek and it turns out they have made a massive part of that area ‘private’. The part with the nice views of the water way etc. Now it seems that this is not the best business choice, but it is their place so fine. But even asking if they could help us so we didn’t have to walk down the 100km/h road with a 1 year old and a 4 year old, The person was rude and cold. So we bloody did. Walked out the front gate and down the highway walking close to their ‘private’ track. Sorry, this is not a nice thing to do as a business owner or a human. I don’t recommend this place.
We booked a powered campersite and enjoyed this beautiful and calm place. They have everything you need when travelling with a campervan. Plus, all the facilities are close to the camp sites. Also, we made a mistake with the booking and they didn't charge us the night we wrongly booked. That's a 10.
An amazing campsite. Our favourite on our New Zealand Campervan trip. Toilets and Showers were impeccable and the hostess was lovely. It was super quiet at night time too.Rooms: 5/5
Great place to camp. I love how it has wee hedges between sites for some privacy. Thr bathroom facilities are modern and clean. Will definitely be back
Staff were friendly and texted check in details as we knew we’d be arriving in the evening. Nicest bathrooms we’ve seen in any hostel or campsite in New Zealand.
Powered sites advertised on their website from 40 dollars per night with a 25 percent campsaver discount for NZMCA members. Stayed in January and the rate was actually 60 dollars per night. A bit steep but I understand higher prices for holiday periods. However we were told campsaver discount does not apply for the holiday period. I pointed out that as of March 2022 that the campsaver scheme was changed and supposed to be available year round. The owner said they have been NZMCA members for 30 years and that there are exclusion periods for campsaverdespite the NZMCA listing saying no exclusions. This is wrong and if they are really members they would have received the same notice in March 2022. Whatever I didn't want to argue further but we won't be back. Toilet block is nice though
-Barking big dog thats not on a leash that i assume is owners since its hungs out near office.. also by the looks of it the dog doesnt follow commands well. I think its no brainer that that dog needs to be on a leash -wifi internet is very slow 3mbps so its next to useless -kitchen doesnt have enough cutlery so be prepared to use your own.
